Ok...dumb question. Seems like a waste of a lot of energy shooting a missile THAT IS ALREADY ABOVE WATER, into the water, only to shoot itself back out of the water. Why not just shoot it from the ship?

It might be because the heat generated from the rocket when it launches means it has to have a mildly beef piece of deck plating underneath to withstand the heat of multiple launches. So some thing like this could be launched off an inflatable dingy in the middle of a pond no problem.
Or it could just be a small scale test for a larger rocket.

I would say it would have less to do with the heat and more to do with being able to handle the back blast of launching the missile. Having a system that doesn't rely on the sturdiness or vastness of the ship to guard it's personnel during launch allows for larger missiles on smaller ships.

More likely: that torpedo is intended for submarine use and testing it on a ship in a safer environment is preferable. However I have seen that video before but cannot remember where and under what name, or I would go and look up what weapon system we are looking at.
About the shuffling: I don't get why white kids in America only notice this now. It has been part of Europe's hard techno scene for several years now and is already out.

You would not have to refit all the ships with missile launcher if you can just launch them from existing torpedo tubes.When you want to launch anti ship missiles, but only have torpedo tubes to launch them from.
