Well that was a good episode. Sentimental as all hell - to its detriment at times - but nothing you wouldn't expect from a Moffat Christmas special. Also, the guy who played the First Doctor did an amazing job.

Best line of the episode: "If I hear any more language like that from you, young lady, you're in for a jolly good smacked bottom". Said only in the way that a stoic, aged British gentleman from the 1960s could say it.

not until clara comes back and does cute shit again....so the christmas special apparently.
    A short cameo, but yes.

The title could use a bit of a refresher anyhow, since at this point we're two Doctors out of date.

That was surprisingly good, given it was a christmas episode.

Apparently a fair few viewers overseas couldn't understand her accent to understand those two words *sigh*

I think it is only all classic old episodes (that haven't been lost), not sure about any of the new series.

You are probably right since you can stream the modern series from a lot of places. But it's still a lot of Whopisodes.

Report on the first screening of the first episode: https://www.theguardian.com/tv-and-r...rth-first-look

Not everybody was impressed that the BBC publicity machine had descended on Sheffield though. “What’s wrong with these people?” muttered one person out loud as the walked past a queue of attendees decked out in multi-coloured scarves and fezzes and carrying sonic screwdrivers. “It’s something to do with Star Wars I’ve been told,” said an elderly woman to her friend as they walked behind the iconic police box prop that has whisked the Doctor through time and space since 1963.

First episode was on last night.

Good to see the Flying Spaghetti Monster make an appearance.

I liked it. Felt a bit like a Tennant episode, but with better production values.

Was good. Script was a little wonky at times - the constant deaths in particular felt a bit forced - but was good.
