From Mont Tremblent Quebec. The owner of the track and a few of his friends were toying around the track the day before our driving event started:

    Day 1 (rainy and cold):
    Namerow

    The Gulch

    Bridge Turn

    Day 2 (sunny and cool):
    Turn 2

    Thread needs more bikes.

Ducati 1199 Panigale. Ducati superbikes (like Italian supercars) are pricey, flashy, have fancy electronics and unique materials. The V twin engine is Ducati's trademark (think Lambo's V12 or BMW's straight 6), which makes tons of torque, and an awesome sound.

BMW S1000RR. More traditional inline 4 engine similar to Japanese bikes. Class leading power and electronics. Any litrebike shootout I've seen that includes the BMW S1000RR has been dominated by this bike. Only slightly more expensive than the benchmark Japanese bikes, and don't forget the heated handgrips.

Edited in blurbs for non-bike people.

BMW has done really well in a relatively short time for superbikes. Back when I was active (2004-2007) there were only four makes of SS and SB bikes, the Japanese ones, with Ducati only an option if you wanted to spend 5-8 times what your competitors were spending (and Triumph a novelty item in SS where allowed.) But lookit dem beemers now

It's cool as fuck and I want one.
This times 1000. I also think that the early models were limited to 80mph, making time travel difficult.

    Friend of mine had this:

A scary ride, 50km/h never felt so fast. We used it to haul a tent and stuff once through the city, a fun ride. The tent itself is a trailer that folds up to a tent with 2 double beds and a sitting area. The rear part has legs to stand by itself and has a gas stove, a sink and a lockbox. The sitting area can be converted to offer one more double bed. An awning can be attached doubling the footprint. And all that from a very small trailer.

The car itself is a Trabant 601. When designed in the late '50s, it was technologically competitive. The body panels were a biocomposite made from a resin reinforced by cotton making it extremely light weight. Lifting the body off the frame is something two guys can do and the whole body will float on water (not with the frame though). Oh and we are talking about 32kg for all body panels.

My parents had one. Technically the first car I drove with. Btw. it is less than an hour from where I live to Zwickau, home of the Trabant and just a bit over an hour to Eisenach, home of the Wartburg.
