Some other company is deploying a large and important system for the company i'm working with
It's going live in a few days
They got the ability to access to our system two days ago, and have not asked/got any information about how our system looks, so basically they have been developing blind
The guy responsible for developing the system and putting things together went on holiday it yesterday
Everyone expects and depends on everything to work flawlessly from day one, and none of the guys about to use the system know anything about computers, and so expects this not to be a big deal

To top it all off, guess who will be answering the question of "why is this shit broken ohgod fix it now!" and being forced to act as a target dummy for the inevitable disaster?

What's a good position in IT, ie not shit, interesting, with the lowest amount of user interaction?

What's a good position in IT, ie not shit, interesting, with the lowest amount of user interaction?

Something sufficiently technical, network tech or software development. Support jobs are generally heavy on the user interaction.

No, but it closely starting to reassemble a textbook-example of "THIS IS HOW TO NOT DO REQUIREMENTS ANALYSIS" from one of my old uni textbooks, you know one of those cases so bad that you should be able to tell how wrong they are even if your retarded
