A Connecticut Yankee in King Ar[thursday]

Just got word that my enterprise integration solution was rejected because Oracle didn't like competition. bollocks.

Damn, sounds like you're having a bad day.

In other news, we had to put my dog to sleep today, he was ~18 years old.

You probably did him a favor, 18 seems quite old for a dog.

You should patent your solution and sell it to Oracle.

The reason why the solution was rejected was that it didn't use enough Oracle components, so, no, that is unlikely.

Shouldn't the title be "A Connecticut Yankee in King Ar[Thursday]'s Court"?

Or is a Yank penetrating King Arthur?

I can see why you would think that, but the more concise way to parse the phrase would be

"A connecticut yankee in king Arthur's day" which makes semantic and logical sense.

    I have a solution; not a product.

After all, a solution could be as simple as 'just stop doing that'. Not exactly marketable.

Suggestion to patent it and then sell it to oracle is spot on.

edit: or copyright or whatever is appropriate for it.

A simple knock on the door followed by "Hi, sir, we have to ask you to please follow us to the police station" would have been enough. Instead they stormed the house with 2 helicopters, dogs, M4s and ~20 "SWAT" (or whatever the NZ equivalent is called) agents. For a webmaster, hell, even Bin Laden didn't get that much. Without valid warrants. It enrages me that his business was shut down and ruined before being convicted of anything. Punishment before proven guilty. His illegally seized assets are still frozen, too. Wheter or not what he did was illegal, that blatant abuse of power makes me rage.

That case is fascinating, though. Right now it's stuck at a point where the FBI doesn't want to show the evidence they gathered from Dotcom's servers to have him extradited and the NZ courts won't extradite him without evidence. I REALLY, REALLY hope that some heads are going to roll for it.

Had an SBD that saved a couple of thousand pounds.

Work at a dormitory where I do janitorial kinds of stuff, mostly cleaning drains or apartments. Shit work, good pay. Came to work with a fearfully nervous sphincter and thought the day a horrible one. Didn't want to let rip in one of the hallways (nobody's there anyway but didn't want to chance it) so I went to the abandoned cellar/storage room. Discovered waterleak that otherwise would've been left unattended for a few days until it'd have warranted tearing down three walls -- as it did last time in that spot.

TBH if the FBI refuses to provide what the NZ courts want to get him extradited then its win win for dotcom. Hes not going anywhere and he gets to sue whatever agency OK'd the raid without the proper evidence for what he believes his business was worth at the time. I believe it was valued in the billions..

Basically if the FBI doesn't or cant roll over they may as well write him a blank cheque.

Sorry to hear it, dpidcoe Have a /hug.

Today news should break on the project I hope will be mine. Fingers crossed, could use ALLLLLL the positive vibes (the client has approached 3 companies, so we need to beat out 2).

I also figured out what to (probably) do with my leasecar. It's called using the 'mobility budget' and driving a car I personally like very mucho. Incoming 2nd household bmw

In more news, not sure if Daneel really didn't know about crocs (see yesterday's dayfred). I kindly spoilered the image for those of us who do know crocs and don't wish to lay eyes on them.

      Spoiler:

In a bid to accelerate meeting girls, signed up (without paying, for now) to Match.ca. Not sure if stupid or otherwise. Time will tell on that one.

I wish you more luck with your project than you had with your title Indi

So, I spent half the night running around escaping the faction police and doing diplomacy. Why do I always end up being the one to ask? I'm ok with it, but it puzzles me.

Otherwise today: I need a bit more sleep first. I'll tell you later \o/
