    Selb speaks the truth.

It is time for you to face the truth too.

(edit: BTW, having a moderately interesting time somewhere in the middle of Finland)

Tbh that was a great response. Lol.

It's really just left me going "wtf" - oh well, something to talk about and plenty more fish in the sea and all that. Some fucking sex would have been nice though.

so in the end did you go and eat something after class?

Been considering doing an Open University science degree for a while now. Been generally put off by the fact the Government don't provide any support (not even a loan) to people who already have a Bachelor's degree though. Think I might just give them a ring today and find out if I can transfer any credit from my existing degree though and take the plunge anyway.

I'm doing one at the moment it's ok. If they let you transfer credits you might be able to get away without doing the terrible first "required" module. My only problem with the courses they offer are mostly biology based, with a few physics and then very few chemistry. Which is annoying as I want to do chemistry.

I want to do the Astronomy and planet science pathway. I think I will have to do the basic science module though as I haven't studied science since GCSE level (though I was good at it and have always maintained an interest in science).

My BA(Hons) is in History & Politics so completely unrelated, but I did have some wild credits which I used to study computer programming, which was very maths heavy so I'm hoping they might take that into consideration and let me skip one or both of the required maths modules that make up the remainder of level 1.

The level 1 modules aren't any harder than a-level's really. Worst thing about the S104 (the required) module is the fact that two of the seven books are mostly geology .

I think I can handle that. Will probably be useful for the planet science stuff anyway

Do you do 30 credits a year or 60? I'd rather do 60 as otherwise it will take forever but obviously wanna make sure I don't overburden myself.

I'm going to be doing about 90 ish credits a year at the moment, with working full time. The first 60 point module takes about 6 months or so to do. I have managed to do it fine with about 5-10 hours a week working on it.

They do have weekend tutorials every month or so in your "local" area but they aren't mandatory.

Ah okay. Reckon I should be fine to do 60 a year then. At least for level 1. Will probably go to the tutorials since my wife works Saturdays anyway and I end up just sitting about doing not much at the moment.

Yea will take a while though I'm looking at at least 4-5 years to finish Might be able to cut it down a bit if I can keep up with the back to back modules.

I'm not in any great rush. I have a decent job (boring as hell but pays okay) and a degree already so it's not urgent for me to get the qualification. This is partly just for learning and so I can say I have two degrees, but also might look at the possibility of career change or doing a PhD afterwards. Just wish I could get the Govt fee loan cause otherwise I'd have to take the OU private loan thingy and that's over £200 a month if I do 60 credits a year which isn't exactly small change.

Is this is a first or second degree? From what I've seen, even if I wasn't earning much or at all I don't qualify for any state support because I already have a degree. My employer obviously won't pay because there's no benefit to them.
