Do they think it will negatively impact performance?
Hopefully they've engineered something to seal the bearing from the outside environment.
Hopefully wind will remove some of that crap.

Let's hope that after 100M km the mission isn't thwarted by something that could have been solved by a broom or a jet of compressed air.
Anaerobic bacteria found naturally in your body would have no trouble breaking down your tissues in the CO2 rich atmosphere. The limiting factor would be the temperature, and probably the stronger UV rays.
