Chilling at home.

By chilling I mean still warm, still sun burnt. It was 100f (38 c) today in Kelowna, which is frankly ridiculous. The UV factor scale was 8, of a potential 11. Fucking hell, its been hot as balls and will be this hot for the next week - sun block and lots of water for me.

Also, been talking with an ex for the last 6 months since we broke up. I think we basically talk from waking up till we go to bed, despite nothing being there since I fucked it up. Thankfully it is currently the worst thing in my life right now, so everything else is pretty awesome. That said, its unhealthy to keep talking like this so I'm going to be trying to cut it off or down now, before she seemingly inevitably gets back with her ex-boyfriend.

I shouldn't care, really, but I do. Thats all there is to it I suppose.

In lighter hearted news, I should actually get to fly tomorrow, if not Tuesday, thanks to all the boating faggots fucking off from the Okanagan.

Earlier in the week i finally got given the keys to my new place, four weeks late. It's a student house and they gutted the house, all new stuff and i was put into temporary accommodation, so no biggy i thought, it'll be worth it. I've been working, so haven't had time to check it out until today.

I walk onto the street and i am greeted by a pile of builders rubbish 5 feet high in the front garden. The front door is filthy, it's covered in paint and dust and plaster, the alcove has a hole in it. I go in, the carpets are nice and clean, they've been vacuumed! However, everything else in the house, and i mean everything is fucking covered in building dust. I go in further, there are corners and edgings not finished. There are wires and unfinished plasterboard edges all around the gas and electric meter. The tiles in the bathrooms are still covered in that shit they cover them with when they're grouting, there are even holes in the fucking grouting. If the switch fixtures are attached at all, they barely cover the holes they cut into the plaster board, which they somehow managed to cut too big. In the kitchen, there is saw dust in all the draws and cupboards. There is also a hole in the back door where they put new piping through but haven't bothered to seal.

If the fact that it's barely finished and the rest is obviously a rush job isn't bad enough, the place is supposed to be fully furnished, its a student house. The bedrooms have a bed, the shittiest desk you've ever seen and nothing else. No wardrobes, no draws, no shelves. The kitchen/living area has a new sofa! It's even clean! It also has two fridge freezers! Only... one either doesn't work or the plug socket it's plugged into doesn't work and the fridge that does work is tiny, looks 15-20 years old and is missing shelves. There is a washing machine and the fact it's 10-15 years old wouldn't normally bother me, accept it might possibly be the dirtiest thing in the entire house. Nothing in the draws or cupboards either. Oh, and there is a massive hole where i assume a dish washer is supposed to go, but they never bothered to install one.

I am so fucking angry right now.

Today was a Good Day.

1) My Raspberry Pi arrived in the post, weeks before I thought it possibly could.

2) I attended my practical biology laboratory session and Everything Went Very Smoothly

3) I found an unlocked 16GB Dell Streak 7" on sale for $180, so I can eventually gift my mum my Galaxy I (which is almost paid off!) and switch to the Streak 7 (since I almost always wear something with cargo pockets anyway)

4) The lady I really enjoy chatting with at the particular campus cafe I tend to frequent is back from her stint at another business. I didn't know if she'd remember me or not but as soon as she saw me she launched into the same conversation we had over a year ago about how our mobile phone choices turned out (both bought the Galaxy I) for us.

Parents already had a roast on when I got home so I'm not cooking tonight!

Back at work(FFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFFF), week in Amsterdam was amaaaaazing, hotel was very naice. Old Amsterdam still best Amsterdam. Also expensive, spent ~1.3k€ all together.
We went through 4 packs of tobacco luuul. Also have no idea how dutch people are so thin, so much sugar and fat in erryting. Easily gained 5 pounds in this week....this week will be spent cycling.

tonight I stepped out on my back porch to chillax a bit. upon opening the glass door and turning on the light a skunk was right next to the door hissing and starting to show me his rear, I then slammed the glass door and decided to check my front porch for chillaxing potential. I was greeted by that same skunk tearing ass around the corner of my house running towards my porch. I am now currently hiding in my house trembling in fear of smelling very bad when I leave my house for work in the morning.

Found out (because I read my e-mail) that I am supposed to hand deliver my company's proposal to a prospective client today. Ok. This is in the city I used to work in - hell if you have to park anywhere in the city centre. Guess what, yes, correct. I'm not sure how much time I have to get there/deliver, since the deadline is at a fixed/unmutable time. Good god. Do not want.

One small good thing: I will most probably be able to sneak in a visit to my former coworkers, have a quick lunch with them and see how they do.

Before then though, WELPO - the parking.

For booking the accommodation? Pretty bloody close. Most people I know are hunting places down by mid July. Especially in a place like Cardiff.

tell me something. I'm trying to find a place in the Netherlands hardest-to-find-a-room city. So far I've applied to dozens of places, got two reactions and been invited to an interview once.
if only the Uni decided they wanted me more then two weeks ago I would have been fine, now it is a case of hoping and keeping at it.
