Even the Aurora, CO shooting wasn't terrible to me: it was horrible that people got shot, yes, but there's more people who die from starvation daily in central Africa than the people who were shot there.
Well who really wants to hear about a bunch of people starving in africa? Nobody well then no money for you news network.

The IRA: A republican paramilitary organisation that had widespread political and community support and a clearly stated objective.

American shooting spree head cases: Assholes who were only able to kill a large number of people because of Americas refusal to take action regarding guns even in the aftermath of countless previous shootings.

No comparison. If you want to compare then compare like for like. We dealt with our problems and we continue to deal with them, unlike yourselves. There are die hards out there but they are isolated to an extreme that relegates them to the status of occasional murderers. Hell despite everything that's happened the vast majority of our police force still don't even carry guns.

America has allowed this crap to become the norm and there seems to be no end in sight.

More people die everyday to car accidents, (about 100 or so a day) should stop people from driving then as well right?

No, because accidents are just that, accidents. Despite this, action is being taken even in the Unites States to increase road safety and reduce road deaths. Same goes for all other highly developed countries.

Accidents just happen. Gun deaths don't just happen, somebody makes a conscious decision to go after people and pull the trigger. There will always be accidents, there doesn't always have to be guns.

The KKK is a right-wing paramilitary organisation that has widespread political and community support and a vaguely stated objective.

I guess organized murder is okay in your book if you have enough support and influence.

You're comparing apples and oranges here, because for the vast majority of Americans having access to transportation necessitates owning a vehicle and dealing with the requisite risks. The same cannot be said for owning a gun.

With all 230 million guns in america it's fair to say that there is a pretty good chance they might.

Phew, lucky the batman shooter didn't wear bulletproof vests and stuff, then.

Head shots, limb shots, etc. not to mention 99% of these sorts are cowards that pick places where people can't fight back (gun free zones lol) so just getting shot at is enough to cause them to flee.

But anybody carrying a concealed weapon legally should be good enough to get a headshot at that range

You know it is kind of funny. Having been in the military, and as a result having spent quite a period of time living around supposedly trained people who were armed 24/7 on deployment... I can tell you that the amount of hilariously idiotic accidental weapon discharges that such an environment creates is something you don't want.

Having been around civilians playing with guns, I can also pretty much tell you that nearly all of them seem to be unsafe fuckwits who terrify me.

Also having been someone who carried around a weapon in a professional capacity, it is my opinion that creating an environment where everyone is armed, doesn't know each other, and then having someone shoot, is basically a recipe for a complete fucking disaster. It is a recipe for a complete fucking disaster because in the real world you have to make decisions on imperfect information without arm-chair quarter backing it, or having nice Hollywood camera angles and music saying "THIS ONE IS A BAD GUY FOR 100% SURE!" Crazy McAsshole starts shooting, you pull out your gun like a fucking hero and start blasting. Someone else looks around for the shooting, sees you, and starts shooting at you because they think you are Crazy McAsshole. You start shooting back because clearly Crazy McAsshole has a friend. Some other guy who saw that you were shooting at Crazy McAsshole so you are clearly a 'good guy' starts shooting at the other guy too, because he must be with Crazy McAsshole. Now other people start shooting back. Good job jackass.

Which is the entire fucking problem with guns in America. Overgrown man children engaging in fantasy play that is just that: pure fantasy that is completely fucking useless in reality.

Am I being an asshole? Sure. But maybe I'm being less of an asshole then the assholes creating the gun culture and the fallout of corpses that surrounds it.
