[Sunday] Mod forumsection drama was had

So apparently we had some serious mod drama going down.

The 'ponger isn't a mod anymore?

The mod section was open to anyone for about 1 or 2 hours (and it was terrible tbh)?

We, THE PEOPLE, demand a public announcement and an explanation. Because changes are dangerous and inducing fears in us, the people of FHC.

If I'd be the mod of the mod forum subsection, there wouldn't be any mods left tbh (except maybe the Hast'ler).

In unrelated news I finally got my bow and after getting used to it in the last 2 weeks, I've started to actually get used to it. Not that I am good, I am still terrible.

I think I need another tab, because my current one is apparently giving the arrow a slight nod right at the moment when it leaves the bowstring. Therefore I am right at the limit of my sight. Oh well, but it is fun.

Today will be spent doing some Burgers and some work. I still need a vacation.

Went to see a model rocket club launching south of Pittsburgh. Apparently when they go to Nevada they launch to over 100,000ft. Fun!

Got to watch a Minotaur IV launch last septemeber. And will be at the Kodiak Launch Complex for an Athena launch later in the year. =)

Just ordered some new fencing gear, but my foil is officially beyond repair. Mainly due to the fact that the blade got chopped clean in half. Going to wait until I've had a few pay packets then get one of these:

Sort of, but my last one was a bargain basement one (£45) that lasted for years, and a maraging blade will last even longer. Most importantly if it does break it doesn't break as sharp as a cheaper blade, which really matters when you've come close to running somebody through with the jagged point of your previous weapon.

What the fuck is with the handle on that thing? You have to hold em like a gun or something?

There are two types of handle more or less. French (what you expect a sword handle to look like) and pistol (yes you hold it like a gun). There's also a variant of the Pistol grip called the Belgian grip (more like a rifle than a pistol, made by some mad belgian bloke who lost a finger and didn't want to stop fencing) that I've used but have sort of grown out of now. There are also some weirder ones that are mostly illegal in competition now because they provide too many ways to hold the sword.

Most competitors use one of the pistol grip variations in competition, although French does still pop up because you can hold it near the end to get a couple of inches extra reach.

I'm guessing he does archery in his spare time.

I used to do archery way back in the day. Compound bow instead of recurve. I managed to get bronze in my category in some small scale european tournament.
But bows are expensive. When I grew out of mine I didn't feel like getting a new one.
