Half Life 2 came out in 2004. that was 8 years ago. It is now currently possible to hold a conversation with a person that was born before Half Life 2 was released.

Since Half Life 2 was released Britain has had 2 different prime ministers.

Since Half Life 2 was shown at E3 in 2004 we've had 3 Olympic games

It's been 6 years since the Human Genome project ended.

Madeline McCann was kidnapped in 2007, 3 years after Half Life 2 was released and 5 years before the present day.

Duke Nukem Forever came out eventually though.... and that should *not* make you optimistic.

I want a continatuation because holy fuck, however, hl and hl2 are probably (haters pls, jelly?) are easily the biggest markets right now.

So much time has passed we'll probably be getting HL3 and not EP3. Knowing Valve they were probably half done with EP3 six times before scrapping everything.

The theory I have is that, like HL2, they want the next one to be the flagship for a new engine, but as much as I want to see HL3 I'm quite happy with them just making new stuff.
