Seen plenty of posts before on ponies hitting the mainstream media such as the military bronies being noticed by their higher ups, Fox News being Fox News and the such. My personal favourite is the Andrew WK interview. As the fandom grows it will be gaining more and more attention in the mainstream media and therefore the general public. Thread is for these stories as they are usually discussion worthy imo.

However, recently there has been a more sinister attack when Howard Stern (never heard of him before this happened) went to Bronycon and made us all look like a bunch of weirdos who fap to pony porn. Normally I would have just ignored it but now another potential piece of bad press is rearing its ugly head in the form of Jerry Springer. Tara is urging people not go on but there is always some idiot who want his 5 minutes of fame.

Eh, it's another attempt at 'freak shaming'. Anything outside the norm is an easy target for predatory apes like Stern and Springer. Annoying, but on the whole unsurprising.

I'll wait for the Brony Documentary that Faust and de Lancie are working on.

I dunno, this could give us an unprecedented opportunity to troll Springer and all of America. Guy fakes being a manchild and girl pretends she had an affair. They go on air and say it's all fake and have a mature, rational discussion of Celestia vs. Luna. With pictures!

But the likes of Springer ultimately control what they show. If it doesn't deliver what they want they will simply edit the footage or scrap it and hire actors as stand-ins. They won't allow anything to be broadcast that doesn't pander to their audience - they are not out to enlighten anyone. This practice is more common than you think.

If they want to make a show about Bronies no one can really stop them. But at least we can not be directly responsible for it and try to laugh at how much of a farce it will be when they have to resort to making things up.
