    Post [Devblog] CSM Meeting Minutes - Summer 2012

    The seventh CSM and CCP had their first scheduled summit from 30th of May to 1st of June, 2012. A wide variety of topics were discussed during the summit in Reykjavik, and the table of contents is listed below.     Some notes:
    As you can see by downloading the meeting minutes, they were no small undertaking. The Seventh Council decided to change the format to increase visibility and accountability of their representation, and the page count rose to meet their commitment (165). CCP would like to thank the CSM for their tireless work in this endeavor and for the considerable effort put into preparation for the summit and communication of its results afterwards. The format will be further refined for future meeting minutes.
    Please feel free to place your comments in the related thread. It will be monitored both by CCP and the CSM.
    Theorycrafting, tinfoilhattery, speculation and all such activities are to be expected and even praised, but until something is deployed to the Tranquility server, please keep in mind it could quickly vanish into nothingness not unlike the pebble-sized meteor trails when entering Earth's atmosphere. With that, may the discussion of these minutes commence!
    On a related note, thanks in advance for your patience of our possible silence on future plans--the NDA is a terrifying, un-nerfable overpowered NPC.
    And finally, a special thanks to CCP Xhagen for helping to coordinate these minutes from vacationland, from whence he shall shortly return.

    Moving over to Command ships, CCP Ytterbium addressed the concern of off grid links and simply stated “off grid boosting should not exist”, with much of the CSM nodding in agreement.

    Just finished reading the stakeholder meeting minutes, like where they plan on heading with the CSM and hopefully CCP can find a cost effective way to get all the teams to interact (and want to interact) with the CSM at the multiple design phases

    Not a fan of the narritive style of minutes even though it comes across that CSM was having a pretty good time. Summaries and professional style minutes are way more valuable in my opinion.

    CCP Greyscale moves on to explain his work on sentry guns. Sentry guns will now shoot anyone with
    a criminal flag, suspect or otherwise. Sentry guns will also start with smaller amounts of damage,
    and ramp up with time. Ideal tuning will be to where triage carriers will die at around 4 1/2
    minutes. This way, if you want to use triage carriers in lowsec on gates you can, but you must
    commit to the cycle for a length of time before starting your reps, if you want to deactivate triage
    before the sentry guns kill you and jump out. CCP Greyscale also points out that another goal is to
    make it so that the first couple of hits won't kill an interceptor immediately, enabling a quick tackle,
    and then a warp out.

    It does jack shit to gate campers, who can just chill in an off-grid pounce until prey arrives. What it kills is any kind of moderately extended small/medium-scale engagement under sentries. Wanted to have a fun skirmish with that hostile BC/hac/scimi gang? Fuck you, here are some 3k dps sentries.

    Im not completely opposed to this idea, would be nice to be able to use smaller ships at gate camps, but I think the high end cap is too high. Should be closer to being able to blap a gank cruiser without much work with no transversal, maybe even a gank battleship, but no more than that.

    so predicting it will be a flat scaling that applies to the gun rather than the target, so some guy turns up on grid having just stolen from someones can of some shit somewhere in system and drops out of warp to the sentries blapping him for <insert total EHP here>
