DEADICATION TO A BITTER SIGHT
Pretty sure the castle doctrine in Florida only includes the inside of your home, and not your property. Some states it does include your property (Texas.) Trouble is we have that loosely worded stand-your-ground law as well, but I suspect the guy screwed himself with that "for effect" line if it can be admitted into court's evidence. You can't just execute an unarmed person who's bleeding to death on the ground.
a bit of a shitstorm might be brewing over the fact that NBC cut out the 7/7 bombing tribute section from the opening ceremony and replaced it with a vacuous interview with Michael Phelps which went along the lines of; "are you going to break any records", "umm, yeah, durr".
Friends of mine broke the world record for body painting today. 316 had their entire bodies painted, head to toe over the course of a few hours. I knew one painter and one paintee. He got painted as The Flash. No, he doesn't have a girlfriend.
250 USD per person (more if you travel alone or just the 2 of you!) does amount to 500 USD per couple a day. That's a stiff price if you want to spend a week there - current exchange rate would suggest that's over 3000 euros for a week. It's excluding air fare, etc and I doubt the hotels you get are 5*. Don't get me wrong, still want to go there, but that's really very pricy.
And yes Katamarino - it just refers to a list of stuff you want to do before you kick the bucket. I don't really have that list, but I do have a list of "things I'd like to see". Aurora borealis, the pyramids, back to the USA, more Canada, more Oman (inc this November), Bhutan, etc.
In other news, just came back from Overspark's birthday present. I gifted him with 20 mins of driving a Lamborghini Gallardo, here he is about to drive off:

indi, best di
i met up with a friend and watched the riders come back through the park at the end of the race.
i took my camera again but sadly left the memory card at home
the break away and main pack went through fairly close together and while it was annoying to have people puish in and get in the way it was great to watch.
lots of people left but it was still very rewarding and deeply moving to see the guys who had given it all come through after the main pack and the cameras had gone.
Watching the two british riders who had spent all their energy to give the other guys a chance come by was amazing
Watching the driver of the argentine team reach out of the window to tow his man up the hill was fucking epic. bro fucking fist

A pic from the Body Painting. It has boobies so I've spoilered it.
Spoiler:
Still have the industrialization part of the opening ceremonies rattling around in my head from last night, was pretty awesome tbh. Like watching a real-life game of Civilization or something.
Also, good music on the whole, at least up until the "boy finds girl" stuff.
Mike Oldfield was so boss

Going home tomorrow after three weeks of travelling. Fucking glad I have another week of.![]()
The music was pretty good. Except for Arctic Monkeys, jesus. The cover was incredibly off-key all the time.
Loved the flame bit at the end too!
So, for americans who don't have cable anymore but like to tune in for Olympics/World Cup/America's Cup on occaision, do I have any pirate stream options for Olympic coverage today?
NBC wants me to have an account with some major TV provider. Hell, if they just said "Pay us 20 bucks to watch" I'd do it.
i just ate an entire dick. feeling pretty good
