Anybody play this yet? I don't think I will because I prefer my pants dry and without feces in it.

There's a number of videos of hardened men crying, some of which are spoilered below.
Spoiler:
It's also free.

Yes I played it a little while back.
No, I don't want to play it again. Ever.
Fucking terrifying. Obviously, play in the dark.
i watched a video of rhinoCRUNCH playing, and he screamed like a little girl at the end. it was genuine. i'll pass, as it looked fucking terrifying near the end as the trees became more spread out, with the gaps of darkness increasing. meanwhile, you hear a slight static approaching, but you can't pinpoint it. then you turn around and...
no no no..........noooooooooo.
my reaction before alt tabing and task mangering that shit
So....scarier than Amnesia?
In many ways, I think "yes".
I ... don't really get the whole "Slenderman" thing. I remember starting to watch the video series on YouTube a while back and getting bored very quickly.
Oh holy god I didn't want those pants anyway.
I'm literally shaking.
The extra unlockable modes (spoilers) for this game are amusing.
EDIT:
Marble Hornets could be about any random thing and it wouldn't matter, given its intentionally slow pacing and non-revealing plot.

Kind of my experience as well. Although it's a lot easier to detach from what you're seeing when it's a video rather than actually playing it. Also, it probably helps that I just got done watching the dr who episodes with the silents, so pretty used to seeing faceless things that you can't look at.
Well I somehow suspect The Powerpuff Girls would have less of an impact, but I see your point.
I don't necessarily agree with it, though.
I haven't played the game myself, so maybe that's the magic delineating factor I'm missing out on - but from what I've seen of it on YouTube it looks - frankly - like a steaming pile of shit. I don't deny that others might enjoy it and I'm not trying to cast any aspersions on those of you who do enjoy it, but I just can't wrap my head around it.
From what I've seen, you walk around in the dark (like a chronic asthmatic) while collecting a number of "intimidating" notes, trying to avoid some "thing" that randomly appears behind you. All for no obvious reason, except maybe the potential to be scared of what looks like the Half Life 1 engine.
As an aside, I think the Slenderman itself is a shitty, made-up meme trying to cash in on pre-existing mysteries. I'm not bashing it just because of Marble Hornets alone, but on that note if I wanted to feel an art student beating off to my face, I'd pay one.
They probably need the money anyhow.
The only interesting thing about Slenderman is that it reminds me to watch The Mothman Prophecies again (hint, hint)
Your argument gets less credible when you complain about graphics. There are plenty of rubbish looking games that are scary.
For example:
It's a totally free indie game.
Graphics aren't really gonna be AAA level.
You know what else has bad graphics?
Books. Last time I checked, there are some cracking horror novels.
