nigga, your GPS NVG's and AS50 weren't a patch on what osmo found in my camp. 3 m4 sd's, 2 as-50's, at least 2 rangefinders and 1 NVG and GPS (might be a little hazy on this)

Was just 1 AS50, 1 rangefinder, and the M4s. No NVG or GPS. And some of it is already lost, see Baarhyn's last AAR.

Sidenote: DayZ really needs some sort of base camp infrastructure with better security mechanics than "well, I hope nobody happens to find it here." What we have now is basically POSes that have no forcefields but aren't on d-scan. Terrible. We need something like lockboxes that can be opened with a passcode or with a hacking program that takes 24 hours to complete (eg. reinforcement timer, but without the structure HP grind).

Anyways, Lingor. I'm loathe to say it's a PVP paradise because....Calling it right now, it's going to be horrendously one sided about 24 hours into it.

Not sure what you mean here. Is there just 1 really good, defensible position? My experience with Lingor in ACE is that it's a pretty nice, complex, evenly-furnished map.

ALSO, I was chatting with kyriee earlier today, and there's a horrible duping bug going on with tents. Any tents that are flattened are respawning on restarts with all their gear. SO, I was thinking about a database wipe and fresh start. Thoughts?

This is a bug that happens on regular hive servers too, a database reset will clear out the old ones but the problem will of course return eventually. Got to just wait for DayZ to get less buggy.

Unless my housemate (greg winter) logged on in the meantime and died, then re-equipped before you stole my shit I guess. I still had a lot more shit stockpiled than that.
EDIT: From what I've read (reddit), 90% of buildings are enterable and obviously lootspawns are very common.
Hmm, struggling on how to word this properly. While the current map is focking huge, the less enterable buildings kind of helps against people dying faster. It's like, it's not a whole lot of fun to scavenge for 30mins to 1hour, then get one shotted somewhere and the chances of this only increase in a map where the hiding spots are increased 800%.
Not to say I'm not advocating PVP but it's always been part of dayz that *mostly* you get at least a chance when you're getting shot at. If those 1-3 angles you're thinking you're getting shot from suddenly increase to 20 or so, it's going to make it incredibly more difficult and much more campy, ie it skews more towards team play and less away from bandits/new players which I'm not sure of. Anyways, like I said, we're gonna try it anyway and see what happens.

Whoa, hold on chaps.
There's a few things to consider about corpses disappearing.
1 - You sure someone didn't find, loot and hide it?
2 - Did you disconnect at any stage apart from respawning? (Even aborting to the lobby can despawn your body)
3 - 4k is a long way to run, your body could have despawned naturally. Seeing as you didn't have map upon respawn it might have been longer than 4k?

I was logged off around 200m from the place where he died, I was going to nick his NVGs but the body wasn't there. Same thing happened with amantus' body the other day. I killed a zombie right around the same place and that body disappeared too.

Well unless he aborted after respawning then it's either 1) alpha or 2) LOOOOOL so yeah, how do we do this?
Assuming kyriee would steal everything of any importance, NVG, rangefinder, GPS and AS-50 there isn't really anything left to loot. I also don't think he's silly enough not to hide your body :P

Unfortunately, there's 2 builds of the non private hive available.
One is made by a duder called anti-rocket (who rather tastefully, has a trollface avatar) and is stealing code off guru abdul (the guy we're using atm). Dramallama etc.
Anyways tl;dr Anti-rockets build is .4 capable atm and guru is on vacation for another few days.
Snake is poking me to swap and I'm hesitant because;
1 - the current setup is working and abul seems to know his shit
2 - I'm willing to wait if it's worth it Sorry!
3 - Honestly, I just don't trust any of it until an officially unofficial build comes out from my man.
4 - Anti-rockets build didn't work for us first try and abuls did.


Honestly, I'm just hoping I can weather the storm until he gets back from vacation because trust me, I want a fucking ghillie suit and choppers withour radar a lot more than the regular person.
So, just gimme 48 hours. In the meantime I can whittle my time on an anti-rocket build but I really don't want to make a full swap then find out, his next build relies on abdul doing all the donkey work first.
If numbers mean anything to anyone, unless snake is doing stealth restarts I've been restarting the server once a day and I've only gotten one complaint of long loading times in 5 days so I think we're on something good atm.
Now if only I could just get this fucking vehicle script working properly.

So, I'll leave the whole "database wipe" thing open for a day or so, some people might not have seen it. Honestly though I can't see a whole lot of people disagreeing with it even though it does look bad for me seeing as I just lost my camp :P On that side, this isn't the first time though, although it is the costliest.

So backstory, the night the hackers raided my original bandit camp. By my, I mean myself, greg winters and teisat. All 3 of us live in the same house so it made sense. Anyways, it had my beloved ural, a while hilux and I was lucky enough to find a chopper hidden in a clearing north east of starry. I guess they thought more central was safer than more distant. Anyways, +1 chopper and 8ish jerrycans. That same night I gave the co-ords to kyriee and AMANTO to help them out as something (i dont remember what) had happened to them and we had plentifully supplies.
I logged off and logged on the next morning to find the hackers banned and kyriee had moved the important shit. I gathered greg and we filled the ural and took it as a sign to just move on, we left most of the shit at another camp and thought, hey it's just one vehicle and it can fit loads. Should be fine, right?
At some stage he decided it was a good idea to take the hilux, I wouldn't have disagreed. It only had jerrycans anyways I think.
I don't think I really did much in the meantime except two incrursions to both elektro and cherno to snipe at the two guys on the atv, fml can't remember your names. Haven't logged on since until today, to find our stuff completely gone. welpo. And here we are.

I'll always do my best to reimburse bugged shit so long as people aren't taking the piss. Also, seeing as no-one looted your corpse, it nulifies any duping.

Server undergoing some troubles with restarting.

Sorry baahr but I knew this would draw some fire onto me. The best way of looking at it is yeah, you lose your pretty good gun, but everyone else is on the same footing. I'm working on a constant restart script aswell but it's not working atm because the rcon tool is being a motherfucker.

tl;dr You'll grown into it bro, it's good for the server, I lose everything too and you have plenty of time to do your stuff. If you're like me and a complete fockin jew, now's a good time to kit yourself out and head to cherno and have some fun.

EDIT: it's unlocked now and insta up to 30 players, the hard part was getting in before anyone else and starting the mission when it was ready. Someone this mods popularity does it harm

I've shot that, well ask minion i think.
In one firefight, i was a retard and took AS-50 ammo instead of DMR in pitch darkness and i must have spent 2 full stanags shooting. 450m range, apparently it does 1k blood at that range, go figure, he thought it was his friend and FF until i had them pinned. The gun is basically useluess unless you're counter sniping.

Edit: I think there's something up with the server saving loot. I've just had another couple DMR mags eaten that I'm certain I've had in my inventory for longer than five minutes and it's starting to get really annoying.
