That is fucking absurd. I rented a house with two guys in Oxford, at the end we left it how we found it and they tried to say we'd damaged loads of shit - it was retarded. It basically took us 4 months to get about 80-90% of our deposit back (about 1600 quid, because fucking lol Oxford.)
We got it back though. Fucking pricks. What do they expect really, people to just roll over and lose that kind of money?

Amazon seem like top blokes, ordered a pretty expensive book once and it arrived badly water damaged, alive with molds and mildew (I suspect it was done by my own Customs service) and they dispatched a new one right away without argument. Top blokes.

when i moved out of my last place... well, 2nd day i moved in, i was broken in to, and they took the doorframe out.
a week later the landlord put it back in with cement and it looked shit with cracks in the walls and bare cement holding it in - they never repainted or anything. i complained 5-6 times over the years but nothing was done.
when i moved out they tried to bill me for redecorating lololol.

So. Dead. Fucking. Tired. Chicago all last week. Internet died early Saturday morning but was back on first thing Mon AM. Spent all day Sat working on the pool. All day Sun mowing. Watched breaking bad, small town security (god why?), and a bit of le blob before zonking out.
After this week, I'm on vacation for 4 glorious weeks (assuming I live that long).
The last place I rented not only did I take a photo of every flaw, I made a list detailing them. Then, before signing the contract I made the landlord sign that he had received a copy of the list and was informed of preexisting damage.
