    i am assuming that can be translated into "don't get a 16:9, get a 16:10" ?
i mean anything else would pretty much indicate you either don't care about being understood, or are just parroting something from elsewhere with no clue why it's significant, either way making your "contribution" to the topic entirely meaningless.
of course pretty much all 23" IPS panels are 1080 jobbies, likely because there's simply not all that many places they make that specific size, with people prefering 21" or 24" respectively, if you want a higher res, you gotta go for a 24" or larger.

Been working / playing / shitposting in the last 5 years with a screen where the pixels are around 90% as large as on a 27" 1080p screen. I have no problems with that. How "bad" it is is rather subjective.

A higher resolution is better of course, but people here make it sound only full HD on a 25"+ makes it unuseable.

Matter of personal taste, tbh. I'm sitting in front of a 1200p 27" screen right now and I find the pixel density quite acceptable.

And pixel density does not exist in isolation, you have to look at the... ahem... 'big picture'. All the 27" 2560 screens use variations of the same LG IPS panel that has poor black levels, average contrast and colour tint issues. Dropping to 1080p opens up the choice to go with AUO's new AMVA panels that have great blacks, insane contrast and (finally for MVA) response times good enough for fast FPS games.

Yes, I meant get a 16:10 ratio monitor. Why the smarmy comment?

    two reasons.
    1. the bad stink of a zero research, little insight post taking up space in a otherwise fine topic that has performed many many miles above what i expected. (but this is FHC, so i expect everything to decent into pony porn within three pages)
    2. the complete lack of why "get that" is somehow a better option than the model discussed a mere three posts above your own, without providing say a alternative in the same price range in the form of a link.

to summarize, because your post was a pointless +1.

Will you get over yourself? You don't even use capitalization and I'm supposed to write up an essay on why you should get a certain monitor?

Check out post #6 where I tell you exactly what monitor I use, and post #7 where Entrox backs it up. Surely you are capable of copy pasting the name into google and seeing for yourself what it's like. I have no idea what supplier you use in Denmark so my link to a Canadian supplier would be useless.

I am trying to be helpful, and you are being a jackass with a huge pole up your butt.

cute, attacking somebody on the basis of grammatical errors, while purposefully ignoring their country of origin.
there's a word for that, but i am sure you can figure it out on your own, oh look you already used it!

as for the monitor your mentioned, sure it's quite a nice one but it holds no interest because A : HP's product support is terrible and B : if i wish to purchase only that and not some shitty OEM box at the same time, i could get a 27" Samsung TN for the same price they are asking, while it's not the case with the previously posted Asus panel.

had you for exsample posted something along the lines of "i think that 16:10/1200p provides a better viewing area" i would not have responded like i did, but why am i wasting time typing this anyway, when all i am going to get in return is a snarky comment insulting either my ancestry, or my mother, likely both.

All I am saying is that I was trying to be friendly and offer some input, yet you took the time to call my "contribution" entirely meaningless.

I have no problems understanding you and have no problem with your lack of capitalization, just pointing out that your own posting is by no means perfect so it's silly to put down others because you don't like exactly how they post.

Essentially you have sunk your own thread by whining about how I worded my reply. Congrats!

Can you two stop flirting please.

Problem with saying 'get 1200p' is a 1200p screen of the same quality (full 8-bit colour, not 6-bit) is significantly more expensive - the PA238Q can be had for around £200, a reasonable (either the Dell U2410 or the mentioned HP) 1200p full IPS panel is likely to run you in the region of £350. Is an inch (fnar) and 120 extra vertical pixels worth £150 extra? I wouldn't have said so, but if you have the money and care about these things it might well be.

and that is still only 2/3rds of what your previously mentioned HP display gets quoted for around here, perhaps you can see why your suggestion got canned right off the bat Cool09 ?

also, props for not flying down the "YOU/YOUR MOTHER IS FUCKING RETARDED!" line, though i wonder what you where getting at bringing my rather lackcluster gramma skills up if you dont have a issue with it.

(and no, i have never laid claim to perfection)

Maybe just say something like "that is out of my price range" next time?

You have the social skills of a potato.

It is not only price range, it is also money/value.

Sure you could afford to pay only once $50 for a sandwich, but you won't because it would be ridiculously overpriced. Likewise if a product has a (for you) minor advantage and costs 50% more than the alternatives you likely won't buy it. Not because you cannot afford it, but because you think that improvement is not worth that much.
