cant decide if i'm excited or nervous.
Not sure how I have done it but after a fail attempt at putting a slightly newer HD in one of my old computers, which involved a lot of digging for IDE cables and giant hands in small spaces the Sata power cable for the current HD doesn't sit properly and the bloody thing is stuck in a restart-loop.
Not sure if I hate computers or just the age of the tech I work with.
Was their an OS on the newly installed drive?

All I can say is probably. The plan was to replace the 100GB drive with a 250GB drive and do a fresh install however the latter was IDE and after a little mucking about (it wouldn't progress past the bios screen) I tried to go back to how it was setup when I started. So currently the 'new' HD is unplugged with the old HD restarting after the safe mode/normal boot option screen. I think the sata power cable is missing three pins but I rarely use them so not sure but it is otherwise loose.
Too late in the day to dick around with it and besides I can live without that particular box (hadn't been used in 6 months.
