My favorite rage from some anonymous person today:

"Should have named the movie 'The Death Count Rises'. Hollywood should be ashamed of itself!"

    *sigh*

Replied in the original Batman thread, as I didn't notice this one at the time.

Was immediately told I lack reading comprehension skills. Always a possabillity I suppose. Lord knows I can't type or spell correctly whilst typing.

The tLDR of it is: I'm a U.S. Politics Wonk, and Dead Horse issue I discuss regularly elsewhere is still just another Dead Horse. Political Debate is 98% Head vs. Brick Wall domesticly, even before adding in an international participant group, and given my already rather low standing at FHC, I'd simply prefer not to go any lower ranting here about politics I already rant pointlessly about elsehwere, knowing what the inevitable end result always is.

Consider my post that generated your concerns withdrawn.

Cool Avatar btw, always meant to tell you that. /shrug.

Despite never being in a combat situation or firing a gun at a human being whilst being shot at; if I would have been there my years of FPS training and general internet badass skills would have BOOM HEADSHOT this guy before the previews were over.

It's illegal to carry into a theater since there's a door charge.
Sounds like a business opportunity. A chain of NRA-friendly, all-weapons-allowed theaters. Double-wide seats to accommodate typical patron's physique, bulletproof movie screens to allow "interactive experience".

No cover charge. Ticket fees added directly to annual NRA membership bill. Family discounts available.
Dont forget VIP booths where alcohol is severed from the tap.
Your post betrays your elitist roots. If alcohol is served from a tap, where you going to get empty beer cans to shot at?!

Those kids at Columbine would still be alive if they couldn't read. WTF is wrong with you librarians and authors? Creating a media that has to be stored in a death trap of a facility. Monsters.

While I think your political positions are probably terrible and misguided, I think your decision not to argue about it is probably the right one. I really don't think, unless you've got some key point to make that nobody has thought of, that there's any chance at all of convincing anyone about anything. The points that were made prior to your post were certainly not successful.

Ironically, you responded to my post, the end of which I concluded that i'm glad I don't live there. Consider my position libertarian in that I think you have every right to live in a broken country. My only concern is that the guns filter across the border. As a result we get gun crime here largely done by american guns as well, which is total garbage.

Civilians ok, but police? Wtf dude. Great idea. Oh, that whackjob/gang member is shooting at bystanders or attacking a bank/whatever? Guess I will charge him with my trusty night stick!

Typical police in the UK don't carry guns and but for situations you describe there are armed units.
Guessing Anarkia was talking about a world where police were completely unarmed.

Although our police (UK) don't carry guns more and more are carrying Tasers.
Fair point about the tasers since guns are the only counter to them and if criminals take up firearms for that purpose then it negates at least one argument against police carrying guns.

Range counters tasers nicely. I suppose that stops you from brawling with a cop though. That said, why would you want to brawl with a cop?

You haven't lived in flyover United States, have you? Brawling with a cop is a time-honored tradition in many rural parts of United States. It's just like foxhunting in England.

Aye Frug, I agree. I'd reserve judgemnt on my Politics, since I havn't shared much of them here (on purpose), as you might find your self suprised (or not). As I'm a Libertarian of sorts, who knows where wou could agree.

I respect your opinion. Not much else to add.

Whenever something like this happens, the second worst thing is the sheer amount of stupidity that's about to pour forth from my dear 'murrica.

The only difference is that England has outlawed fox hunting with dogs.

I live in the Apps of North Carolina. My only experience with cops is calling them and trying to become one. I lost any inclination to brawl with a cop when I watched a retarded friend try to take the gun off a cop. Said cop elbowed him in the face hard enough to break his face(cheekbone broke quite cleanly). I guess it's me being a quick learner. The cops around here go all honey badger on anyone trying to brawl. It's considered a threat ad they pull guns quick.

i hate how everyone has to look at a tragedy like this and go all "who's to blame!!!"

why cant a crazy person be the one that receives the blame?

Because sane people really can't understand what has just happened so most of us revert to using our preconceived notions about other groups of people (particularly those we don't like) to assign blame.

Because the crazy guy is usually dead at the end and you can't put a corpse on the stand. The structure of the US today requires someone take blame it's sad, but true. In a car accident the car manufacturer is held responsible because clearly they didn't build the five thousand dollar car out of pure armor grade titanium.
