I visited the Yorktown about 8 or 9 years ago and from what I remember the portions we allowed to walk in were well kept.

Speaking of portions allowed to walk in, I visited the midway a few years back. Was really disappointed that all we could get to was the flight deck, aircraft deck underneath, and then go down a ramp into a machine room and also some rack space off to the side. It would have been awesome if they had the entire thing opened up for people to get lost in but nope, all the other access was welded or locked shut.

I have been on the Constellation and the Lincoln. And just about every class of smaller ship homeported in Puget Sound cause of Sea Fair.

Also saw the USS Kitty Hawk when it visited Sydney in 2007. Holy hell it was massive.

They don't want you sneaking into the sections where the Philadelphia Experiment device was installed.

I went on a tour of it when I was in boy scouts. Unfortunately I was probably a bit too young to fully appreciate it.

Hell yeah, blown to shit and was still able to go underway under its own power. US Navy damage control for the win

True story, my dad was on the sister ship to the USS Stark, the USS Jarrett, when it happened. They were among the first to respond and also escorted the ship back to port.
