Backfires are what Hornets want to be when they grow up.

Now we just need a carrier big enough for them.

And we don't know if the groups near NKos have been enhanced/reinforced or augmented.

Considering the recent performance of US Navy, them carries might be very exposed.

20380-class corvette reached Red Sea for the first time. Apparently, problem with engines are now considered as "solved". But we know Russian ships don't like any engine except nuclear-powered one.

"I think we could all do with sitting back a bit and detaching ourselves from the situation to really think about how these issues reflect on our future and how we discuss them here and be a bit less aggressive or defensive because everyone has a complicated set of circumstances that has led the to place importance on particular issues and it doesn't meany any of them is less valid, we just need to look at the broader picture"

BAE have released further artists impressions of the UK's new successor ballistic missile submarines - The Dreadnought class.

Note the fin / sail / conning tower and stern design. A radical departure from traditional UK design. However the bow retains the more blunt shape typical of UK Subs.

In regards to the info graphic - Olympic pool comparisons are nice. but everybody who's anybody looks for the ' London double decker ' comparison.

This is why BAE will never be excepted.

Britain has sold the Royal Navy's flagship to Brazil for 84million

Would be funny of they sold it on to Argentina for a quick profit.

basically. the ocean was due for retirement this year anyway, cost 250m ish but was built to commercial standards, so lots of niggles etc and shortcuts. i guess with QE coming 'online' soonish with no planes but cert for helicopters, GB doesn't technically need a helicopter carrier in the immediate future.
