USNS Mercy
USNS Comfort
The US Navy's thousand bed mobile hospitals.
That tent-like structure on the top resembles a hazmat/alien cover-upper tent. Those ships would be fantastic for a Dead Space-like alien horror game.

so... AEGIS + FE lasers/ railguns.
USS Ashland:
On April 10, 2010, seven suspected pirates on a skiff shot at the Ashland approximately 330 nautical miles (610 km) off the coast of Djibouti. Ashland fired two rounds at the skiff from her MK-38 Mod 2, 25mm gun. The people on board the skiff abandoned ship as it became engulfed in flames.
In keeping with the thread:
USS Olympia. If you are near Philly, see her before she sinks, or donate to the National Historic Ships fund to try and keep her afloat until somebody wins the bid to take her as a museum ship.
This is the ship the order to annihilate the Spanish pacific fleet was given from.
You'd be wrong. There are five ships in the US Navy that seem to get their name recycled every generation:
Enterprise: Began life as a Sloop of War, and became a carrier name AFTER the "Treaty of Washington Carriers" were first built. Until then , all the Enterprises were small and "no one gives a shit" sized. The English also a tradition of naming minor verb shits as small and NOGAS. It is relevant to note that the Lexington Class was originally planned as Battlecruisers and finished as carriers back when Langley was a trial run/experiment and nobody was really sure if this "Carrier" thing was going to work out. When they figured it out, the Yorktown class was commissioned. The third batch of US Carriers were originally planned to have a "Kearsarge" policy in their naming.
Bon Homme Richard: John Paul Jones' replacement for Ranger (see below). Notable is the first, Farraguts steam Frigate, and the carrier... and now an LHD since the navy seems to have adopted a retarded policy of naming carriers for presidents.
Ranger: Jones' first ship. Been a bane to the fleet since.
Wasp: Another Original... Seems this name is getting demoted to gator freighter duty.
Hornet: You guessed it, continental navy.
Annnnnnnd... Washington. This one at least didn't take a cock up the ass in its latest incarnation, as its a real fighting ship. Note, that with the exception of the Battleship (well, not QUITE with the exception), all Washington's are named after General/President George Washington. This full naming shit is relatively new and, as a Sailor, I think fucking retarded and I wish who ever is pushing for this shit would stop.
And for the love of god, someone make a Demotivational of that Task Force with the text of "Don't worry Army, Navy's got this.".
... And back to not having time for internets. Leave ends in two days, and I have parents to keep the girl friend away from.

Spoiler:
Getting replaced with these soon:
Canberra class LHD.
Australian version of the Spanish ship Juan Carlos I. The biggest ships ever operated by the RAN. It's got a ski ramp on the bow because apparently the RAN likes wasting the forward section of flightdeck since they've repeatedly come out saying they have no plans on getting any fixed wing aircraft to operate off it.
