So basically, you can make platinum technite for about half the current price.

What I think will happen is that tech drops maybe 50% in price and alchemy hovers around a level where it's just barely profitable. Cobalt is going to spike for now, but it'll be driven down again as the price of tech crashes. Cobalt moons aren't going to make you money. Even at current tech prices these alchemy rates aren't enough to support a Cobalt price that would break even if you mine it with a large tower.

Maybe the value of t2 products will just shift into whatever is second-least abundant.

C, thats the whole point of this change. To "act as a valve" and avoid spikes like technetium

Wait, i hadn't seen the "reacts into -> refines into"

So, you get 95 units of platinum back

Tech is still king, it will remain the most valuable moon in the game, but the price might drop to half of current. It doesn't fix the underlying issues with it though.

It will go down. To at least half of what it is right now (this is not invesment advice). Due to being able to produce the same things with other cheaper materials.

The alchemy cost is pretty much all in pos fuel though, and it's much more sensitive to fuel costs than tech is.

You need to remember that alchemy is slow as fuck (yield is 1/20 of proper reaction) and you need boatloads of reactors for it so the fuel costs + hauling effort is quite major part of the price.

    Wait, someone check my numbers:

    Cobalt (100u) 43,000.00
    Platinum (100u) 277,600.00
    Total 320,600.00
    platinumB -(95u) (263,720.00)
    TotalCost (10u) 56,880.00
    CostPerUnit (1u) 5,688.00

Price per unit is actully 5.6k?

For 10 units of alchemy plat-tech you need 100 units of cobalt and 5 units of plat.

    (Regular reaction takes 100 plat + 100 tech and outputs 200 plat+tech)

yeah, this makes it a 5680 price/unit using alchemy and 80k using reaction. I didnt know about alchemy time and all that jazz though, so something else to take into consideration

You're not counting fuel costs, which are about 40k isk / hr / reactor.
Also, cobalt was more than 430 isk / unit I think. Closer to 1k

I'm only calculating cost per unit. Nothing more.
Price of cobals was taken off eve-central/eve-marketdata for Amarr prices as there's nothing else left in Jita

40k isk / unit / reactor is what I meant. It's actually 400k per reactor.

So you have at least 40k isk per unit just in fuel cost.

yesssir and that's an overhead. I'm just calculating the raw cost of the units.

Almost 3 now. I bet nothing of practical benefit will happen or it'll get even worse.

Alchemy is so god damn fuel price sensitive. Nudge the fuel price a bit, and suddenly the tech price doesn't have to crash much at all.
