Anyone have some good resources, inquiring about an old book.

A friend just picked up a copy of a novel called "The Wall of Berlin" by Frank A. Olson. It's signed by the author, with the following inscription: "With best wishes from Frank A. Olson, Sept. 26, 1963" and underneath that, in pencil, it says, "(Judy worked with Frank at the Dept. of Law. He ended his life by committing suicide quite young. This was his only book. It's quite good.)"

It's a first edition, published by Exposition Press in New York. A hasty Google search didn't provide much illumination about this. Any bibliosleuths out there have a good resource for research?

    (his words not mine)

My interest is piqued too and would like to know more. Anyone know anything? Or where I might start my search?

For a brief moment I got interested because there is a Frank Olson who was a scientist that was supposedly murdered by the CIA in 1953. This sadly doesn't blend with him signing a book in 1963 so now it's boring again.

It's a shop in London that specialises in old books and first editions - they have first editions of loads of things - The Jungle Book is one that I nearly picked up... 800 year old bibles, .... on the origin of species... erm... like thousands. Book experts - give em a try? I've visited the shop a couple of times, they know lots of stuff.

Hello? Oh, hello! I'm sorry it's a very bad line. No, no no... but that's not possible, she was sealed in to the Seventh Obelisk after the prayer meeting. Well, no, I get that it's important... an Egyptian Goddess loose on the Orient Express. In Space. Give us a mo....

... don't worry about a thing, your Majesty; we're on our way.

I have a 1936 ed. of Language, Truth, and Logic by A. J. Ayer that has an inscription from Ayer to a girl I think he was plowing. I got it off the internet back when I was a phil. student and once in awhile I'll take it out and show it to people which then involves a quick and dirty 30min lecture on the contextual importance of LTL.

All I can find using the power of google is that Exposition Press was a pay-to-publish publisher that closed down in the early 1980s, however this info came from yahoo answers so take that as you will. Also "Frank A. Olson" is linked to two other books, being either a study or a technical manual and both books published or otherwise connected to the military.

Looks like we have a mystery, i'll bring the scooby snacks.
