    uTorrent alternatives?

Anyone got a good alternative to uTorrent? I find that v3.1.2 causes my home server to bluescreen at random, and 2.2.1 spawns zombie processes that require a hard reset of the system. Both only achieve ~2MB/s before the dreaded '"Disk overloaded" error appears, and both take forever to process/check large torrents (>2GB).

I've tried azereus/vuze in the past, but I find it pretty bloated these days.

So FHC, alternatives to uTorrent? Or any recommended settings to stop it being so useless? This is on Windows.

Deluge is the best torrent client in my opinion, open source. I would never trust a prorgam like uTorrent and Vuze.

This topic came up in another section.

    Some reccomendations were:

    http://www.tixati.com/

rtorrent (which turns out our own "Rakshasa the cat" wrote because fuck azereus, the thread then side tracks a bit into some fan worship)

Ended up trying Vuze/Azereus, qBittorrent, and Deluge last night; first two were tragic and reminded me why I ditched Vuze in the first place. Deluge I just couldn't get around the interface.

Realised that uTorrent 3.2.1 has just been released, installed. Managed to configure it so I didn't get Disk Overloaded all the fucking time. Left semi-satisfied.

Some people have problems with post 3.x utorrent because it hogs memory if being left on, see things like dedi torrent boxes.

utorrent 2.2.1 works wonders, my seedbox has been on for 100 days+ (windows) and no memory leaks or anything.

I assumed they were chosen specifically to reduce eyestrain, i.e. bright text on dark background (not unlike a certain forum). As an occasional high contrast mode user, I appreciate this design choice.

Deluge is bittorrenting on hard mode.

qBit is all the goodness of uTorrent, but without the shit spyware/adware.

clearly it's an excellent idea to strand yourself years in the past with no possibility of updates.

then again I'm pretty sure you have a Pentium II and use Windows 7
