Only managed to watch a couple of matchs due to family party. What would you say were the fights of the weekend? Which should I watch now they have been added to youtube?

Yep. I don't see the point of having the commentators on camera, either. The rate at which the view switches between them is enough to give one a fit.

There's been a couple of times where it has seemed that there is a delay between what we are seeing of the match, and when we get something about it from the commentators. Maybe because they are at home and watching a stream, also. Or they could just be slow...

But yeah - nothing too exciting from the matches so far.

might have the audio delayed in case a commentator goes mental or something, means they have a window to cut it out - standard procedure for "live" tv anyway. if you had the video at the same rate, people in corp or whoever would know about the result before it was shown on video. Ooooooooooooorr the commentators are shit and ccp couldnt organise a molestation case in the vatican.

I read somewhere on the Eve-O forums that the commentators get a 5-second delay, because they're watching on their special commentator client. I think the exact quote can be found in Fearless.'s "Remove MBIII" thread. That's why they'll say shit like, "He's beginning to take shield damage" when the guy is in half armor or something.

In the case of MB3 it's just him being slow and taking 5 minutes to notice the match has begun.

There is about a 20 second delay or so between stream and commentators - you can see it in cases where you see a ship explode, and they're lagging behind saying its taking armor then hull damage, and finally exploding.

Hopefully it'll be better once they're up in Iceland.

The question then should be why aren't the general spectators on a significant (c. 1 minute) delay to allow CCP to synchronise the feed of the fight and the feeds they're getting from their commentators. It wouldn't be difficult at all.

There is a broadcast delay - when our fight finished we hopped back to normal comms and the stream was was about 2 or 3 mins behind.

Dunno if that was the stream being shit or what, but the action definitely wasn't live at tha point.

Due to buffering at various stream relay servers and at the player there will always be a delay on internet streams.
