Well, the resolution is a bit anticlimactic.
It went and died of dehydration. Also, someone else foud the corpse and disposed of it before I did so no pictures either.
Not a great way to go, so I feel a bit bad about that, but whatever. At least it had the courtesy to not die somewhere inaccessible.

You need several people putting on life jackets while being panicked.

You need heroic orchestral music to play while you stand on the bridge as the ship goes down. The captain always goes down with the ship.
The rats will spazz the fuck out and gtfo out of your house (they are kinda retarded and dont notice they're not actually surrounded by water).

Get a large bucket (5 gallon or larger), fill half way with water.
Get a piece of cloth large enough to cover the top, draw it tight like a drum and duct tape in place.
Cut an x in the middle of the cloth large enough to accomodate the rat.
Put peanut butter on the cloth, primarily on the x flaps.
Use a piece of wood or something to make a ramp from the ground to the lid.
Place in a frequently used area.
Wait.
???
Profit.
This will catch and dipatch as many rodents as are around.
Oh, and if you want to dispatch an animal caught in a live trap, you can always just toss the trap in a bucket/garbage can full of water.

we used to have a cat that was mice killer...like rambo in mouse/cat world..i used to take her to our friends, neighbours, friends of a friend, everybody that heard about her efficiency and wanted help in getting rid of mice...i could make a business with here, she really was born to kill mice...she used to bring 2-3 mice every day to our door step, to brag about them and play with them, sometimes they were still alive
i remember a neighbour had a mouse (she said) in a bathroom trapped and called our mum and i took her there, opened the door, drop our cat in, close the door...there was this quite moment like 3 minutes nothing was happening, almost made me open the door and check whats going on...
but then all hell broke loose... i have never in my life heard such sounds, not even in best SF movies, the battle took like 15 minutes, i was beginning to worry and was almost sure both died; then i heard our cat calling me...
opened the door and there were two fucking big rats, like 4 kg each, dead on the floor, blood all around, i was sure our cat was hurt since she was white and brown, but now cowered with the blood.
She was shaking like mad, when i tried to pick her up the wasn't letting me, she tried to bite me, she was like she was angry on me for what i have put her through...the bathroom was a mess, lots of blood on walls, turned over stuff..took like 30 minutes till she would calm down and let me touch her, after i cleaned her she only had few scratch marks and those 2 rats were biggest i or our neighbours have ever seen out of a movie or tv..
Turns out our neighbour only saw a part of a tail behind a closet in bathroom and assumed it was a little mouse
Our cat never fought/killed mice after that, her character was changed after that, she wasn't playful any more, she didn't want me or anybody else to pet her, she used to sleep in my room, now she slept on couch..
I still fell bad for what i did, and when i see that neighbour i always remember my cat and fell bad.....
