Why don't they make the coaxial 75mm gun on the E-100 and Maus functional? Big guns for big targets, little gun for scouts and spam damage. It's basically a pak 40 with lower muzzle velocity, so in between 128/150mm rounds you could spam weak spots on the target with the small gun.

Seems with the nerfy shit they did to those tanks it would make sense, even with a reduced MM spread and lack of truly small targets.

edit: and that Super Pershing turret looks awfully vulnerable for the tiers it'll be facing, no?

With a barrel 37.5 calibers in length the AP penetration would be somewhere around 76mm (lol) and damage only 110 hitpoints. I know people have talked about using it to track targets, but how many hitpoints of damage have to be applied to a tier 9/10 tank to track them?

Even if you used HE that's only 175 hp of damage, which even the mere 30mm of rear armor on the BatChat would blunt to ~53 hitpoints. Any real armoring would make both types of rounds useless.

Don't get me wrong, I'd take the extra gun if it were offered, but I seriously doubt it would actually improve the vehicle in any way.

Just the 17cm. However, the HE rounds do 1,400 damage and have 85mm of penetration, which is sufficient to punch through the sides/rears of all tier tens save for the German and Russian heavies and other JgPz E-100s. The reload time is much to long to switch rounds after seeing the enemy, but if somehow armed with the knowledge of an impending side shot I can see some people going for it. Big risk for a mere +300 damage, though.

Complete, one cannon only, you can derp with it too, but with 300 mm penetration average and 1100 damage AP, why would you? Derp does 1400 damage with 85mm penetration

You have to be in an OP tank/kill stealing tank to enjoy a wide tier spread where you can nibble and run, or HULKSMASH through the less skilled in the top tank.

IS-1 MM got me top tank 5% of the time. WAS EASY to the point of boredom.
IS-1 vs 2x E100 was a challenge, but only because I hit for 460 dmg and lit them on fire...from both ends...

My VKP3001/stock 1375 got those matches, and it was just running away until arty raid opened. HARDLY FUN.



IS-1 got to solo IS4s down to 20% before team ganged up on me...are you saying you won't like the new MM because you will have to solo on the same tier level and not fuck up?

The tier system is really rather shitty though. Sure, sometimes a lower tier tanker can outplay a higher tier one, or let him be overconfident and run into your bigger guns etc. But all things like that being equal, the higher tiers just have a huge advantage over lower tier stuff. There's really no reason the tier spread should be 3 or 4 tiers, I think 2 would be ok.

And some tanks just get completely buttfucked by it, like the M5 or the Tiger. They just can't do anything against the shit they get put up against in the high end. Sure, you try and play around it, hope you come across the lower tier dudes in the match that you can kill, or you hang back or whatever. But when the high tier dude in the tank that's like a decade more advanced than yours comes rumbling down the road towards you, it's such a shitty feeling. Sometimes, like I said you can use that overconfidence of theirs to track them in the open or something, but usually you just ping off their armour a couple times then get blatted. It's ridiculous the amount of games you start off at a huge disadvantage before you've done anything.

Two tanks that actually get "buttfucked" far less then many of their tier brothers, because of speed, stealth and viewrange for M5, and because of accuracy and penetration for Tiger. Especially the M5, in such a game you don't need to fire your gun a single time, except to harass and distract, and against arty.

Tordin is right, this game was at its finest (gameplaywise, if not graphics/sound) before nanonerf, where I LOVED taking on KT's in my Pz3, where we had awesome interceptor battles (like Pz3 vs Leo) and where tier spread was huge.

They just can't do anything against the shit they get put up against in the high end.

And that's what causes diversity, sometimes you're the big bad monster, sometimes you're the support trying to lay a trap for that big bad monster so it can be killed by the big guns on your team. The very first step to more interesting, diverse and challenging combat, is to have separate roles that together make up a team. And yeah, it used to work at least semi-ok even with randoms back then, despite 6 tier spread, or even more if you go further back in time.

Today though, because of how the game has developed, it has molded the average player into a retarded faggot pussy, or attracted that sort of player, that you cannot get to show a modicum of intelligence and aggressiveness, you cannot get support for a push, you can only expect them to sit there and twiddle their thumbs while the door you opened closes with your death.

And THEN they might move, but only one by one, right into oncoming guns which are now ALL facing in their direction, while a moment ago the enemy guns were all facing me who was flanking them making it safer for our big boys to advance and shoot them, which is what opening the door means.

Tbh I really don't mind the new balancing. I didn't care having to go up against high tier before I just :dealtwithit: but it was nice to go up against tanks the same tier as you on the occasion.

I mean think about it in this light, most of the people on here are fairly experienced WoTers but for a really new person that has been slowly grinding their way up to a T-150 they don't want to start being put in lots of Tier 8/9 battles and it wouldn't be very fair on them for MM to do that.

So where it isn't much of an issue for most of us it is a issue for the newer players coming in.

I just have rose tinten memories of me in my pz3 with the 5cm gun running around killing KV's, pz4's and the occasional tiger.

Or when the T44 was considered on par with the IS-7, without the upgraded gun/engine it has now.

Or the King tiger had so many horses it could outmanouver most mediums. (but had a gaping hole instead of gun mantlet).

Or driving a VK DB with short 88 was the shit because bounces, bounces everywhere.

I think the main issue with high tiers is not diversity or 'camping fags' but the fact armour has no point now. That forces you into a single play style and reduces 'diversity' of choice. MM spread was silly, this change might make it too tight but we'll see

M8, we were all new players at one time, and when I was a new player, my KV was regularly against tier 9's sometimes tier 10's, quite often actually only the enemy had a tier 10 while we didn't. Other times you got to be the monster with only lower tier's against you and a Pz4 maybe. Many times enemy had KV-3, we had only my KV, and then lower tiers. And it was FINE.

Pz3 was also fucking awesome, despite that you would oneshoot it most of the time with nowadays useless guns like U-11 or 10.5cm L/28, i.e. 410-450dmg HE guns. And with KV's derp you could shoot the ground next to a Pz3 and instakill it just from splash. And yet Pz3 was awesome. But it is dead to me now, may it RIP. T-50-2 is the last of its kind, carrying on that glorious legacy, but it's still nothing like back then.

The thing with new players is, you now condition them to play like faggots, blobbing up whenever possible, hiding in the back, because its so much harder to do stuff solo now, when every moron can hit you every time.

It's not the tier spread that has killed off M5 or Pz3, it's shitty game mechanic changes slowly dismantling this game.

I'm not talking about the M5 or PzIII I'm just saying in general it would of been nice back in beta if I could of been going up against same tier or 2 tiers above when learning new tanks and new tiers then seeing tier 10s all the time in a tier 5.

The last time I was a new player was very very very early on in beta so a lot has changed. But I am just trying to think of what a brand new player might feel not what a vet might feel like.
