Nice BR - it's so easy to lose track of time and I think you did a decent job overall.

If I was you, I would have put 1 Harpy permanently on their Bhaalgorn to keep it in position, whilst webbing down their Merlins with your Harpies ASAP, at which point the Drakes *should* have been able to bleed through them and slowly kill them.

Once the Merlins (and the damps they carry..) are gone, you can pull the Drakes and Scimitar back and just keep the Harpies in there to pin down the Bhaalgorn, Oracle and Oneiros, whilst your Drakes work through the Oneiros and then through the Oracle. You can simply ignore the Punisher as even a tackled Scimitar is able to dictate range on a tackled Bhaalgorn and Oracle.

    Just my 2 cents.

Wasn't much that really could be done from the team comps on both sides - you have to keep the Drakes and Scimitar together to enable RR, but doing so means that to do any damage (with damped Drakes) the Scimitar has to get into neut / web range with them. If you spread them apart, you leave yourself open to your Scimitar suddenly getting damped (which happened on at least the second Drake). Can't really blitz through any of the relevant tanks we had - the only thing you did have going for you was your super-evasive Scimitar. That thing was a pain in the ass at the end, apparently.

It was certainly hilarious and I hope we see you guys advance and get to fight again in the 12 man's, in which no one will log in and we will field 5 BS.

Wasn't there a statistic last year that 110% of the teams that fielded drakes lost the match? What you could have done was bring a better setup.

The number of people in this thread whose Alliance Tourney PVP knowledge derives solely from Michael Bolton's shit commentating is staggering...

TBH, I was hoping they would send in some of their Harpies to do just this. This is what we were expecting from their ships early on in the match. With the way we were comped and our first move being to push the Oracle 20ish KM from the Bhaalgorn, had the harpies moved in to tackle one each of the ships you had mentioned it would have netted us some easier kills than you would expect. Double webbed, and triple neuted Harpy (one at a time) either at range from the Oracle pushing good dps or at range from the Bhaalgorn would end badly. Even with Scimitar support. The punisher could add it's web to the harpy and now you're looking at triple webbed harpy in good to 'optimal' range of the Bhaalgorn and or Oracle.

In fact, that's how the one harpy did die. It swung too close to both the Punisher and the Bhaal at the wrong time. Scimi was either out of rep range or didn't see it, and a few volley's later the Harpy was off the field. You're also forgetting the Damp Merlins. Between them and the Punisher, the real heroes of the fight, we had a good advantage.

It wasn't a total hell death, obviously, but Rote is still in a good position, with enough points to advance, and if the first weekend is any indication, at least 8 of the 16 "winners" matches will be curb stomps, giving both Rote and PZZA ample chance to advance. Match played out how it was gonna play out. No amount of commentary here is going to change that.

Nice write up from the scimi point of view by the way Neo. Appreciated the insight into what you were seeing.

Intigo, unlike you... I was actually involved in the testing and theory crafting of a team that is in the Tournament this year.

Also, thanks for pointing out the grammar error. XD

You should at least read Syndicate's W&P thread once a year before making dumb statements about the residents of Syndicate and whom they fly with.

But I imagine you're too busy crying tears of blood about the fact that your team was so bad they couldn't even follow the rules on how to not get kicked from the tournament before it even started, so maybe not.

I recall a certain "unbeatable" setup back in AT4.

Guys I have secret intel that Rote's next setup is blaster Deimos and Vigilants with medium ECM drones. It's pretty much unbeatable.
