Personally I am skeptical about solar panels mainly due to the wooded nature and hilly topography of our property. There is an organic farm a few miles away that just put in a huge solar installation but they have many tens of acres that is flat and relatively clear of trees. They predict they will have sufficient power to run their small house and two big hoop houses. *shrugs* I want the generator regardless, and Mr. Mynxee and I agree on that investment.
Solar panels in parking lots would be ace. I don't have to deal with the sun and it's free energy.
7 degrees on a Monday morning. This is unaustralian.
Blah blah tapatalk
Contract stuff to Seraphina Amaranth.
"You give me the awful impression - I hate to have to say - of someone who hasn't read any of the arguments against your position. Ever."
Yeah I don't know how much light you get Mynxee but it would be my ideal investment here if I would invest in a forest house.
My brother got panels put on his house 2 months ago. When they put it on they stuffed his roof and its now leaking water into his garage and study. He is not happy.
Have to call BS on that one. I'm in western Washington state and solar is justifiable this far north, with as much cloud cover as we have. Typical time-to-break-even is 5 years or so, depending on your exact location and local weather.
Now, that said, solar is terrible for insuring consistent power without an extremely large array and most clear weather. If Mynxee's first concern is reliability, the generator is the right choice.

I thought what I'd do was, I'd pretend I was one of those Thukkers, that way I wouldn't have to have any goddamn stupid useless conversations with anybody.
