This isn't necessarily true. If anyone remembers back when CCP boosted all ships' HP by a blanket factor of 5, arty went from being the danglies in fleets to being the shit-tier fleet BS weapon. Alpha isn't necessarily the most important statistic, it depends entirely on the alpha:ehp ratios involved. Part of it is that, these days, we're flying a lot more cruisers and BCs than we did in the past.Originally Posted by prometheus

It didn't even take a factor of 5 increase in EHP to make arty the deprecated weapon system.
