Yawn. 5AM, still another three hours left in my shift. Overnights are proving to be somewhat difficult to get used to with my current roomate situation.
E: Oh god the morning people are starting to arrive. Someone save me.

Hello? Oh, hello! I'm sorry it's a very bad line. No, no no... but that's not possible, she was sealed in to the Seventh Obelisk after the prayer meeting. Well, no, I get that it's important... an Egyptian Goddess loose on the Orient Express. In Space. Give us a mo....
... don't worry about a thing, your Majesty; we're on our way.
Hilariously I put it on FB (because cool kids) and said, inb4 pregnant/STDs.
Actual results, 83% average, sadly principles of flight at 61% and systems at 72%. So they both have to be retaken. About 6 in our class failed PoF, and some only failed that. Systems I knew was shit walking out of it. Others were very good. Am pleased as I didn't bomb out as hard as I thought.

Tony cummings (yes we have done all the jokes already, he even told us some we hadn't thought of).
We have Nick Mylne for air law who was the guy you said about before. Really nice chap.

Nick is phenomenal. Wait till you hear him go from posh southerner talk into fluent arabic. Holy shit impressive. Ask him for cool stories, he has plenty, hes been in a horrendous helo crash before. Guy is a legend.
Tony is good, hes a bit of a dry old stick but I'm surprised so many dropped PoF with him. He was ill recently and his attitude had changed by the time he came back, I used to really enjoy the banter with him though. Great guy. He hand built that Caterham he has himself.
Grats on passing. Suggest you do the retakes before or after the Phase 2 exams - Not at the same time, too much all at once. At least for me.
Today is a good day, haven't been to this site in fucking ages.
Nothing has changed.
Bade thread still delivers.
Yea we have seen tony in the caterham a few weeks ago in the nice weather, he looks hilarious in the goggles.
As for retakes, going to be booked in for early August, school finals towards the end of August and then JARs early september.

Question for the fly boys: I'd always assumed everyone that learns to fly does it through the airforce or pays out the ass for lessons. Is this not the case or are you cashed up?
Learning to fly is something I'd like to do one day for the fun of it.

Off to visit the gf for the weekend.
Been sitting in the same seat in a cramped train for the last five hours. One more to go!
Some old Dutch people with too many bags sitting across, and taking up all of my legroom. Annoyed

I know when I joined the Army I tried to be a helicopter pilot. They told me unless I could already fly a helicopter they really are not recruiting to train from scratch at the moment. I should have abused the influence I could have brought through my father and family friends but at the time I was unaware how high and far their reach was. It wasn't until my state Senator showed up in Afghanistan and he had heard about me did I realize how much these people talk to each other.
Ouch unlucky.
I'm fortunate enough to have family backing re my training. My first instructor paid for his through a loan with Delta Connection Academy up in Sanford Florida. He'll be paying off his debt for a good while yet.
Learning to fly for the fun of it however, in the USA is around $8-$14k. It varies depending on what plane you're training in, and how long you take. Mine was around $12k, and I was using a DA-40 with the G1000 avionics.
Well worth doing - really, its awesome flying yourself and friends somewhere.
