    Laptop Screen issue

I have a brand new Toshiba Satellite C660 laptop. But it doesn't work and in a fit of rage I opened it up because after sending it to them back 3 times they still didn't repair it so now I need to find my problem myself.

The laptop starts normally, it works ok, until I open an internet browser or some other software, then the screen starts to flicker or even turn itself down.

To give you an example: I open google, it works normally, I start typing "wedding photograph-" and the second I pres "Y" the screen goes completely black. I press backspace and delete the "y" and the screen lights up once again. It happens with a lot of words and websites, for example a page will load up, but when I scroll down, past a certain point it will start to flicker or turn off again.

    I've reinstalled, deleted, updated everything.

What can it be? If I connect the laptop to my TV both of them work perfectly and the laptop screen won't flicker until restart.
    Hey, I just met you,
    and this is crazy
    but here's my number,

Does the behaviour of the screen change depending on what it's showing, ie, window positions, desktop background colour, etc?

Yes, it does that a lot. Moving windows will stop it to flicker sometimes and so will removing certain colors.

You should have demanded a new one if the problem appeared within 2 weeks of purchase. Now that you've opened it you voided your warranty as well. Although I can understand your frustration since it appears to be a retarded problem.

I think the LCD panel is borked, tbh. Best thing you can do is take the laptop to a repair shop and have them do a diagnosis, they'll be able to tell if it's the LCD, the signal ribbon or the motherboard's LVDS circuit that's gone pop.

If it is the LCD you don't have to pay them to replace it, tho. Open the bezel, get the part number of the panel and buy a new one on EBay. They're piss easy to fit and buying the raw panel is a lot cheaper than having one fitted.
