I'm not really supposed to be drinking, but I am. Just means I can't take my usual sleeping pill tonight, which will mean about three or four hours of sleep at best. I'm trying to choke down this stuff called Glen Ness Highland Single Malt. God it is awful. The smell reminds me of the worst Kentucky bourbons and there's an aftertaste that lingers even after a heavy soda chaser and a gargle with, get this, mouthwash. This was not a good purchase.

I watched the great Germany - Greece game, met some friends of a friend who had some unplanned stay in my town (bla bla bla, billing issues, had to cancel your ticket but you can pay for a fucking expensive ticket, now they're using Ryanair) and showed them the party district. Had a great time.

I was painting stuff today, and there was a traffic-blocking hinge type of gate made of solid iron. I undid some of the wire ties keeping the gate shut so I could paint it. Turns out the hinges needed rewelding and the wires were there for a reason, so now I have a bruised toe.
