Applied for an internal position within the company I work for a couple of weeks ago. Spent time with my Manager polishing up my CV, Cover Letter, and doing mock interviews as preparation.

Had a written exam last week to weed out those without the necessary knowledge, and I just came out of my interview.

Feels like it went really well, received some good vibes from their reactions and body language, so now it's a waiting game for 2-4 weeks whilst they conduct the rest of the interviews. If I pass, I'll go to a second stage interview, with two different people.

Not getting my hopes up, but at least the first hurdle is now over and done with, whichever way it turns out.

This is one reason I'm happy my car is old and I have nothing of value inside it. I can just leave the windows wide open in summer and it's only ever 45 degrees in it when it's like 40 outside anyway.

Makes up the air conditioner being broken.

Raging toothache since Saturday and have appt w/dentist in <1hr....this is bad enough that I'm actually eager to go to the dentist and get it fixed. On the plus side, I've been self-medicating with Stoli.

This can only end well, if true.

Iran, Syria, Russia and China are planning the “biggest-ever wargames in the Middle East,” according to an unconfirmed report on the semi-official Iranian news site Fars News.

According to the article, the four countries are preparing 90,000 troops, 400 aircraft and 1,000 tanks for the massive joint maneuvers, which are to take place along the Syrian coast within a month.

The report states that Russian “atomic submarines and warships, aircraft carriers and mine-clearing destroyers as well as Iranian battleships and submarines will also arrive in Syria” and that Egypt has agreed to let 12 Chinese warships cross the Suez Canal for the exercises.

    That suggests that:

    a) Russia has multiple aircraft carriers
    b) Iran has battleships

    Quality journalism there.

Yeah it actually reads like a state news article out of Iran tbh. And I'm pretty sure 12 Chinese warships in the Med would be a first, by a long shot.

Anyway, back from dentist already. One wisdom tooth is cracked. Have a consultation with surgeon IN TWO FUCKING DAYS OMGOWTHISFUCKINGHURTS.

Someone threw himself off a multistory car park opposite the office today. Its only a 4 story building which makes me think that hes probably going to regret his decision.

Aren't battleships considered to be largely obsolete for modern naval warfare? I guess the Iranians also thought that flying boat thing was a good idea too, so I wouldn't be too surprised if they thought battleships should be the backbone of their navy.

I think that since the US et al only have "Frigates", "Destroyers", and "Cruisers" these days the Iranian propaganda machine thinks their bullshit will be more convincing if they claim to have "Battleships" and not just motorboats with fucking machine guns.

Im not saying that they have a great naval strength but they have a fair bit more firepower then motorboats with machine guns.

Why deal with facts when hyperbole is so much more entertaining?
