    Meeting the parents

My guy is coming over tonight for dinner - first time he's met my mum... cooking for both of them

    • Chicken breast wrapped in ham with bayonnais butter and asparagus
    • New potatoes in Alpine butter with just picked mint leaves and a little salt and pepper
    • Fresh basil pesto with a hint of garlic and crushed black pepper corns on pasta, topped with sun dried tomatoes in olive oil
    • Thick white crusty bread with olive oil and sesame seed oil dips
    • Steamed baby thin carrots in butter with a little bit of brown sugar

New Zealand Marlborough dry white wine

He's bringing Tiramasu as the desert / tribute for the fire god.

    suggestions / comments?

Friend suggest coriander instead of mint leaves but I'm not too sure on that one...

Possibly balsamic vinegar over sesame seed oil?
Hello? Oh, hello! I'm sorry it's a very bad line. No, no no... but that's not possible, she was sealed in to the Seventh Obelisk after the prayer meeting. Well, no, I get that it's important... an Egyptian Goddess loose on the Orient Express. In Space. Give us a mo....

... don't worry about a thing, your Majesty; we're on our way.

Of course balsamic instead of sesame, maybe a little bowl of coarse rock salt
New potatoes as opposed to ... old potatoes?
Stick with the mint leaves its tastier.
Watch that ham doesn't "fry" with the butter unless you are going for the crispy edge

Pesto with "a hint" of garlic? That sounds like puréed basil to me. ++garlic (also, pine nuts are amazing in pesto if you haven't already got 'em in there)
    Domination.

They have a distinctive and very nice taste - they actually have flavour and such Golf ball sized, straight out of the ground - yummy.

New potatos are the ones you can leave the skins on right? If so they're called exactly that in Australia (so bundus is just uninformed!)
