the new stuff is pretty much the right price point IMHO. 500 AUR is 1/7th a PLEX, or around $2.50, for the *expensive* stuff.
Granted, I am still baffled why CCP would keep the price high on the other stuff on the off chance that someone might be offended that their monocle or combat boots are suddenly less valuable than they were at time of purchase.
e: I wonder if CCP Zinfandel still works there...

CCP should have logs of all Aurum purchases. They could easily reimburse people if they lower the prices of things.
Reimbursement would be setting a bad precedent though if they ever did sales or anything like that in the future, tbh. Prices change all the time; steam does 50 and 75% off sales every day on titles that people undoubtedly paid full price for at some point in the past. I can't see anyone getting upset about anything being cheaper except maybe the infamous monocle.
OTOH i'm guessing CCP just don't want to have their fairly positive expansion release and the upcoming AT overshadowed by another summer ragefest over microtransactions, and i can't much blame them

Seeing how much rage dressing-barbie-in-station generates I am beginning to think this is a good thing
Its not the rage CCP need to worry about.. Its Rage burnout.. Thats what I got.. The game became less fun when I woke up each morning and had to check the news sites (or here) to find out what new retarded thing was broken and why CCP was spending all its time designing clothing instead of fixing it.

Instead of keeping the old Aurum clothing at the insane price points, why not make all Aurum clothing that was purchased for the old prices akin to "vintage" weapons in TF2, and then reintroduce the clothing in a regular style at the more sane price point?
so, this means that we'll see the somewhat generic-style clothes that already have a market entry (colour variations on existing things), appear at small AUR prices?
And in August, we'll see the more eve-styled ones that were on test server briefly (gallente skin tight plastic, minmatar strappy stuff) appear in loot from something or other ?
that seem reasonable prediction?

No, it's more that a Barth post is one of two things:
- Retarded opinion shrouded within a short story's worth of words, "Hey look at me I majored in writing!".
or
- Half sentence that delves into the absolute depths of retardation in an attempt to prove Barth is the bitterest of them all.
Generally #1 occurs in a political thread and #2 occurs in an EVE thread.
Just remove Aurum and make these items available via NPCs. People buy ISK with plex anyway. What does it matter? Why was aurum ever needed?
