Scammers phishing for info.

If you ever get an automated call that simply waits a few seconds then a computer voice says "goodbye" that's scammers also, they record the first few seconds hoping you answer and say something like "hello, blah speaking" or "blah household".

They're probably looking for the people who answer the phone by saying "Yes?" then they record that. Then they make a fake bill for purchases or services. When you protest the charges, they play back a pre-recorded message explaining the charges then add "Do you agree to these charges?" and then add your affirmative answer. If you say bullshit, they threaten to report you to credit rating agencies.

A shakedown, really.

House purchase completed today yay, they took the loft ladder :/

Parents had one house where the previous owners took all the light bulbs.

GF and I had the opposite- previous owners left so much junk in the house (including a rusty chest freezer full of melted, out of date ben & jerry's) that we didn't move in immediately because we wanted to clean it. Freecycled what we could, but it took a few trips to the local tip to get rid of the rest.
