I don't remember if they ever said no, every time someone asks them about it it's been "We didn't say never, just not now" in a somewhat weaselly manner. At the rate they're going they may at some point introduce smoothbores, but it would be dumb, even for them, to introduce one that has a smoothbore among a bunch of others that don't.
I'll be here until MWO and PS2 go live. After that? vOv
People have been whining for T10 meds since T9 meds were announced.
It was iffy even at early days of game. Once we got E50 switch and Patton it was obvious that any T10 meds would be '60es main battle tanks, and would obsolete everything else in the game. People kept whining and whining and whining. Tbh wargaming started it ages ago when they announced that Soviet T9 med would be T-54... all those years ago.
And then there is real complaint, that nothing but T10 heavies and T8 arty is really needed for clan wars. And this was a real issue. Maybe one or two suicide batchats to remove enemy arty. Why use puny T-50-2 when batman has 4 times as much HP and can take out 2-3 arty solo... T5 lights have been obsolete since they came out. T-50-2 saw some tiny use in clanwars, others never ever ever, and still T-54 was better in practice, and Batman is scout god.
I really derailed myself. But it does stand. T9 meds and T9 TDs as "end tree tanks" were still just not used in clanwars in any kind of proportion. And then we got first T10 meds, AMX 50B and T110, pushing out mediums out of clan wars even further.

What's PS2?

Tanks are like Pokemon, gotta collect 'em all.....

Thx, from link:
MASSIVE WARFARE: Battles will take place not between dozens of troops, but hundreds; with air and ground vehicles slugging it out alongside squads of troops.
Iunno. Could be fun, but sounds like blobbery to me. I think if I start some other online thing soon, it'll be dayz, though it'll get blobby too no doubt, with time. Or go back to racing, iracing.com probably, unless ping becomes an issue.

Just like E50, but you can penetrate everything consistently and more gun depression.![]()
IS7 is technologically far more advanced then for example T-54 so argument that by adding t-54 they already screwed things up is pretty invalid if you ask me.
In terms of fluff it does not really matter as long as it makes sense balance wise.
IF t10 meds are OP they will just nerf them afterwards because it makes as little sense for tier10 meds/tds to be OP as it was for tier10 heavy tanks to be OP for all this time. It is stupid and unjustified to have only tier10 heavy spam in clan wars etc ( just like it will make little to no sense that you have tier10 med spam ).
So yes they will be OP but only from WG business perspective for short time to force people to grind them and spend money etc. Then they will hopefully nerf them to the appropriate levels. Its gonna be hmmm common tactic used by WG to drain some western money![]()

"A good player is always lucky."
The way I see it the labels are pretty arbitrary. The French tier 4 heavy is not a Tiger is not an E-75 is not a Maus, etc. The naming schemes of the top tier mediums are the least of the problems. The entire system of raw damage and penetration values both need to be redone for almost every tank above the middle tiers, and the prices and XP requirements adjusted after that. There is no reason whatsoever to achieve broad-spectrum "balance" across all the same class of tanks in all the same tiers in all the same nations. The Stug 100 should just obliterate shit, the Panther line should have historical engine and transmission placement, and the blueprint tanks should have educated guesses made about their gun values instead of guesses about how to best equalize them.
Balance should come from XP and cash input being commensurate with the effectiveness of the vehicle, while the tier is only a vaguely general indicator of its effectiveness for MM purposes. Implement this, and more realistic vehicle and weapon characteristics become justified.
... is what I'd say if this wasn't a F2P game.![]()
So I like have the BatChat and I'm close to both E50M and M48. I'm broke and will be selling some stuff (bye bye E75!) to get just one of them. Which one is more fun and a true upgrade? I've heard someone mention M48 has shit gun depression and that sounds... depressing.
