In other news, just re-saw Tron: Legacy. If you look past the shitty script and pretty bad acting you have three things:

1. An awesome soundtrack that really really really adds to the movie (Daft Punk <3)
2. A very stylish movie that just looks goddamn cool
3. Jeff-goddamn-Bridges. So good.

Moving my brother out of his apartment went surprisingly smoothly.

Now I'm looking for a journalism job to fill time until I [hopefully] go back to school next year. There's a surprisingly decent number of writing/reporting jobs in that field that don't require a journalism degree, per se. My cultural anthropology training and graduate degree must have qualified me to be a beat reporter. Especially for arts & culture, or community social issues. Here's hoping anyway. My current job won't be paying the bills come winter.

I may have to fabricate a blog though, from which to draw writing samples. Should have some good stuff to report on independently once the RNC convention comes to Tampa.

i was pretty lost, none of the transitions or character motivations made sense. leo played a waffly chump who for the first hour he was back in new york showed zero signs of either hating or liking the only character i gave a shit about, daniel day-lewis, until he stops a would-be assassin who was trying to kill the guy he came back to new york to kill. then the city rebels against the rich fucks and we get another gang war that gets interrupted by the army and the navy taking pot shots.

then we watched drive, which was probably the best film i've seen since i watched north by northwest in january.

The problem with transformers is it was full of story and character progression. Fuck that shit off all it needs is robots fighting. The only human characters should be the guy driving who sees one transform and says "holy shit its a robot!" and some to get killed by decepticons and/or saved by autobots.
