i have a cousin who's on a scholarship in the U.S trying to go 'pro tennis'. it makes me uncomfortable watching her play in those tiny skirts.

Press in Australia has been a bitover all this. "Worst Wimbledon since 1938" and stuff like that since all the men got knocked out in round one. One even had some old tennis bloke blaming it on Sydney house prices.
But even to a casual tennis follower like me, I knew there wasn't much more to hope for. Hewitt is a million years old and was only good really young at any rate, anyways he played very well vs Tsonga. Tomic on the other hand was terrible, come on at least try. Stosur was a bit more of a disappointment but she's getting on a bit too.
Still, Australia hasn't had much in mens tennis since Rafter was still around and before Hewitt got married the first time.

To be fair to Stosur she's never been a grass-court player. Tomic is a prick though. His retirement in Halle against Tommy Haas told me all i needed to know about him and his interest in competing. Hewitt's a prick for non-tennis reasons but at least with him you're going to get more effort than anyone else in the game.

Guessing it's from the groaning/screaming etc from the womens games because they "need to do it to get more power in their shots." I would challenge any of them to play just a single game with only making minimal sounds, I mean granted there's going to be the occasional grunt of effort but to make that godawful noise every single bastard time you hit the fucking ball? come on...eh?
Granted some of the blokes do it as well, thinking more about Nadal who tends to do it on occasions although that's not a problem nowalthough I don't think it's anywhere near as prevelant or consistent (or it could just be more noticable in the women's games).

It's fucking unbearable to watch them double-fault games away and get a couple shot rallies.

On another annoying side is that I can't get Wimbledon HD coverage because the channel that covers it isn't included in the fucking $100 dollar TV package through Rogers because TSN isn't included.
What happened to NBC covering Wimbledon? I hate the commentators but shit, at least I could watch Wimbledon.
