Not suprised that Germany lost... until now they faced relativley shitty teams. Italian teamspirit won.
Maybe except portugal, but portugal played bad at the start of the tournament. Only later became better.

Might be bad but does not change the fact that Germany lost. And are you trying to say that dutch and denmark and portugal and greece were good teams when Germany played against them? Not really. Out all of those matches germany only won convincingly greece... but only after that when greece team spirit was already broken. So yes I try to claim that Germany got overconfident playing against relativly easy opponents and it bited them back in the end.

Was a big surprise for me up till now Italy had played like shit, draw first two games and win one and that was only against Ireland, they couldn't even get a goal against us (lolEngland) so really surprised they beat Germany

endymion has valids points, Germany were good, but then again they didn't really play against great teams...and neither did Italy. In the end Germany's shortcomings were quite obvious and I feel bad to see them leave

Tbh, im not suprised at germany loosing as well, at least to me the played all in all way less convincing than in 2010, and as said before the teams they played were hardly a good match. There just was no... magic! And our defense was horrible, every single match they failed at least once, badly!

    Just my opinion.

    But im still sad!

I don't. For some very strange reason the german public ( or at least the most visible parts ) tend to lose all reason just because of one or two small victories. For them we had almost already won the championship.
Needless to say, It gets somewhat annoying.

Watching the tail end of it, it looked like Germany got trounced completely. That Italian defensive line was extremely good.

This. I especially found their vicotry against portugal very lucky. 1 decent chance which the good striker gomez makes, that was about the only real danger. Then it was a show of portugal missing about 3 100% chances.

You can say that about any team though really. If you look at the manner of victories for all the teams in the last 4 you can criticise them in some way if you look hard enough.

What it comes down to is that out of the sixteen teams in the tournament at least a dozen are good sides - and there's not that much difference in quality between them.

The worst of those dozen teams can beat the best if they have a good day and maybe a little bit of luck.

Love that Mario scored twice. Second goal was brilliant vs a great keeper. Really happy primarily because Mario's one of our strikers (City) and hes either world class or a moron, and last night he was the former. Lets hope he grows up and brings that desire and form to City again next season.

That said, grats to the Italians. Spain need to wake up a bit now, they've not been great but they've got the job done.
