Well that seems to have wiped the :SMUG: right off of his face. Now he just needs to shave, and Success!
So essentially he sounded completely disconnected because he had poor latency.
Also, somehow get him to take down that picture of Shadoo in his background or change the angle of the webcamera so he doesn't look like he's posing for the stream.
>implying he is going to get any better.
He was heavily criticized on his style and general shttiness last year, and there was no improvement over the course of an entire year. If you honestly think he is going to dramatically improve over the course of one week then lol.
To paraphrase the message to CCP from last summer...
"Actions, not Promises"
Did you just not get the whole tone of that post or am I missing something? He goes right to pointing out there's even non-official commentary sources which people might seriously consider, something CCP might have conflicting views about, in an effort to be pretty damned level with everyone. It's not like he rubbed in that he was CCP-approved or anything about that it would cause them extra work to find a convincingly better replacement at this late stage so that really we'd have to :deal with it: at least until the finals. He put himself pretty open to any & every point of complaint. That said I did barely watch any of his matches because of it being him commentating.
Also it's true some people won't get that a duo will always have the setup of colour vs commentary, someone's always going to play the less technical elite pvp guy proposing the same noob-friendly general mechanics discussion in the middle of someone's potential fight of their lives.
I think that would be a really nice solution. I find that MBIII has a role to play there. In the CCP PR segments where they drag some CCP sales person to the AT studio and all the normal player commentators start inspecting their nails or the ceiling, MBIII will actually fill the role of jester by throwing in a some silly questions or providing amusing anecdotes. Thus making the boring PR segment, a little bit less boring...In the past, if a caster has proved to be consistently less skilled than expected, they are benched from commentary during at least the finals weekend and only utilized in the "couch" segments. ...
Now imagine these terrible comments without shadoo there to be smug and just look at him like he is retarded. Do. Not. Want.
