I've been to most of the good national trust places in Devon I think, or at least the ones that interest me like Castle Drogo and Cotehele.

Ideally I'd like a good place where I can get lost for a while, just pick a direction and walk until I find something interesting.

edit: Slough is being considered in the same way that Milton Keynes is being considered: as a target for hatred and cruise missiles.
Done any exploring on old military sites? Found some old bunkers and gun installations dating from ww2 about 20mins from my place down near Slapton Sands, me and a few mates are getting into the old urban exploration too.
Tossing on your larping outfit and playing airsoft doesn't count does it?
    I'm actually an '07.

Did I mention I've been diagnosed with lol social anxiety disorder and lol major depressive disorder?

Either way, weekly psychologist appointments yay, let's turn me into someone that can hopefully someday study medicine (yes I am aware of the irony of someone with social anxiety wanting to become a doctor, a position which requires social interaction 24/7)
    LOL SIGNATURES.

I'm sad to say I've never done any of this and I would really be interested in finding such things. I've heard about some defensive batteries on the islands in the Bristol Channel that still have the guns mounted in the batteries but they're all rusted through. I imagine the south of England has a shedload of that kind of stuff. Do you know of any good examples? Urban exploration also sounds pretty cool although I don't know the first thing about it. As I say I tend to stay away from cities so I don't really know how to find the interesting bits.

There is an old bunker inside Portland, searching brings up some other mostly overground C19th ones but this was built and used in the cold war, a family friend did the asbestos removal for the place, he said the entrance looks like a double garage and you go down a long set of metal stairs to the complex. He never said how big it was (that I can remember, this was back in the 90s now).

Somebody opened their car door into my car.

If I knew who it was I would key them. And their car.

Friend was in town last night so we met up for what turned into a few too many beers. Ended up spending the night on his brother's couch in the city and walking him over for his bus at 6am. Its kind of surreal in the city before dawn with nothing except the occasional semi-trailer passing through and watching the city slowly wake up.

After I got home I slept half the day and still feel like crap. Though I'd imagine he'd be feeling a damn sight worse considering he only had a bottle of water to last him the ~3.5 hour bus ride back to Sydney then a full day's work.

Ragequit a game of coh last night and slammed my headphones repeatedly and it seems to have fixed the issue I was having recently with the lower frequencies being distorted.

    Win.

Yes. I got through all of the beer, like a boss. I even somehow managed to limp the fleet I was FC'ing home and kill an inattentive astarte in HED before passing out.

It's not crippling in a "live on the street" kind of way, but I do have to seriously pay attention to my spending now, which I didn't have to before (which was nice). Was able to do stuff like fly to visit friends on a pretty routine basis if I felt like it, etc. Now I'm distinctly in "watch out or you'll go over budget" territory. I have enough sitting in savings that if I screw up a bit while adjusting to the new budget I can cover myself.

Well, to be fair, the actual support bill is $700, which is still insane compared to my income IMO, but since the mother also can't afford health care, I'm on the hook for that. Because he's out of the HMO area for my company / plan, I had to switch to the PPO for both myself AND him (since I can't have him on a "seperate" plan), which ends up being an extra $400 a month because our health insurance is really premium apparently. (on the up side almost everything is covered, no deductible, etc, so there's that)

Previously I was paying $0 / month for similar coverage but as an HMO (and no child on the plan, of course)
I tried to be cool and all I got was a lousy warning about my sig being too big.
