CCP 2011 Annual report : They are late

This was an turbulent year and I can't wait to read it. Lets hope an enterprising failheaper makes it available to the community as soon as it's filled.

For reference : last year discussion, we kinda foresaw many events, made quite a few predictions, and we shall soon know how wrong we were.

For those of us who don't understand moonspeak, is that site saying that they're actually late in a "black helicopters are going to show up and take out your CEO because he's stealing all our money" kind of late, or are they just a bit slower than normal in getting it out this year?

Im pretty sure they are still responsible for a large portion of foreign currency coming into Iceland. The government probably is p lenient on them?

I'm just amazed the lack of a filing hasn't forced people in to making pages of word vomit anyways.

At a wildly assumptive guess I would say they made less money last year for very simple reasons.

1) they are still developing 3 games, have expanded their workforce, I believe they have since shrunk in size but I can't be assed to check.
2) Of their 3 games they only have an income from one.

yeah, this. i mean, we saw it this time last year, but it doesn't look like they have a regularish date for it. I highly doubt it'd show anything that CCP hasn't already basically admitted with hilmar's post-incarna statement and by firing 150 people, either.

You should look into what their budget year is (if its 1st of Jan - 31st of dec, or 1st of April - 31st of March, these are two usual ones in Sweden). After that, the company usually has 6 months to file with the authorities.

That's how it works in Sweden. Even a non-public company has to file the reports. It could of course be totally different in Iceland.

I have no idea how these things work in Iceland - here in Germany many companies don't file their annual reports at all (despite being legally required to do so) as the fines are capped at 25k € and the report might contain information that is of use to competitors.

At the very least they have to pay taxes on stuff..So they need to file some sort of tax something.

Hi, That was my first thought as well and it's been about 18 months since last submission. At a guess just by looking at the dates of previous filings it is December or January. So this means one of two things, their CFO is asleep at the wheel or just hasn't submitted it yet for the public. Though it is entirely possible that a private company can make a private submission, the whole idea that they do not have to submit a report is questionable as I believe this is how Iceland would figure out what their tax is isn't it?

On an interesting and related note, CCP, while attempting to hire developers from the now-defunct 38 studios, mention their 2011 revenues as $66m.

On the subject of CCP's finances, Tweetfleet noted an article on from an icelandic newspaper - evidently CCP are taking out a $20m bond (2.5b isk) for 5 years to help launch DUST. They're also relaunching eve china this year with a new partner and plan to be traded on the stock market in a few years.

The article is in icelandic and I'm just using google translate, so if anyone who speaks the lingo wants to take a look through and see if there's anything else of note, link here.

The bond makes sense. Funding a new project solely from existing revenues is slow
