Agreed.
The new Raven (and the Bombers too) are what I'd hold up as the example as quality redesign.
The new Scorpion, rightfully so, an example of improvement that did not work out as well, because they went too far and too generic/anthropomorphic.
But for things like overall-hull symmetry, thats going to always be personal. I like the new Scorp not because it's a "lolScorp-looking-Scorp", but because I prefer overal general symmetry. Statisticly speaking, so does the majority, which is why symmetry often gets = to generic.
Also, agreed on the pointless wankery, with myself guilty as anyone. You're quite right Tarm.
Well said Gly. Visually Balanced > Absolute Symmetry.my opinion only, so feel free to disagree: ships don't need to be symmetrical, but they do need to look fairly balanced.
Asymmetry done well: Coercer, Naga, Cormorant, Omen
and badly: Moa, Aeon
