Just had a nice chat with a campus security guard. Was outside having a cigarette with a friend, who's been away in Guernsey for the last two weeks, catching up, when he walked into the courtyard outside our accommodation block and walked towards me. He asked what I was smoking, so I showed him the filter and that was enough to satisfy him that it wasn't a joint, before telling me that there had been a complaint about the a strong smell of weed around Woodland.

I replied saying you can smell it all over campus, since the sun came out, before expressing shock that people were doing it during exam period, since they should be studying.

He then let slip that security has been heightened in the last week because of increased complaints about the smell of cannabis around campus. Seriously. We are surrounded by privately owned fields, a golf course and some beautiful woodland walks with caves to explore and piles of rocks to climb, yet people decide to do it on campus? Well I guess we hotbox a mate's bathroom a lot, so I can't really criticise people for it ...

He then went on to say that he, personally, doesn't have a problem with it, since people need to unwind during exam period and told me that, if I were to see anyone smoking weed around the accommodation blocks, I should tell them to do it elsewhere, 'preferably somewhere secluded and away from buildings or off campus'.

What a nice chap!

On a side note, I have my last exam of the year on Thursday, so tomorrow's going to be a busy day. Gotta get through the entire semester's syllabus because I might have missed some ... I mean most ... actually, pretty much all my lectures for maths. That is:

Anyways back to uni today after yesterdays visit to the Melbourne CBD for brain testing. Last week of classes for semester only have 1 essay and 3 exams left in terms of assesment. Feeling very lazy.

hokai, so:
We finished our first set of school finals this week, our class did pretty well, no massive fails unlike the class before us.
Quite a few of us (a dozen or so) hit the town, tuesday night and post most exam periods so most places are closed, first club we hit up, 'student IDs please', wtf, no-one in our group has any, so bad.
We hit up the next place and have a drink or two. A third place and settle there, drinks, dancing and general entertainment is had there.

5 of us leave together and grab a cab, myself and one other guy are going to one place and the 3 others are going to a second place a little further on from the first in the same direction, the cabbie agrees to both drops and a price (a decent price for him which we agree to), he then decides to only drop at the second place and demand money to take me and the other guy back to the original first drop or he will leave us there (aprox. 5 miles away). He then refuses to provide his ID after a few times of me requesting to see and take a picture (make a copy) of it. I call the main office for the company and say the cabbie is taking us for a ride and refusing to drop us at the agreed locations, all the information is noted down and will be sent off the the council tomorrow, fucking cabbies trying to take apparent drunks for a ride and then demand more money from them, congrats I know the system as well as you, copy the ID and cab name/number down and the time, all the other info is recorded by the cab company by law.

In other news, 11 people at work got fired today (from a different department that does similar things) and my manager scheduled a meeting for early tomorrow morning (he sent the e-mail at 7:30PM, good thing I felt like digging through my e-mail to find a code snippet tonight). 50-50 chance I get fired tomorrow, oh well.
