I've done some drunken driving back in the days. I ain't proud about it and nothing ever happened because of it. Worst thing that happened was me hitting a small rock right outside my parents house crushing a tire literally 20 meters before parking in the garage. Since I was pretty drunk I just went to bed and I still feel ashamed when I think of it today.
Drunken driving is never a good idea, in fact: My father taught us just a very few things, but one of the most basic messages was: Never get into someone's car when he's drunk.... except if the person in question is me. Took some edge of the lesson to be honest.
drunk driving is just eternally dumb. mother dearest nearly got killed by a drunk ex-marine, who to top it off had a seizure at the wheel and smashed into her tiny Ka at like 90 from behind. basically sheared the rear of the car off, he carried on until he smashed into the side of an artic who had seen what was going on, and jackknifed so the moron couldn't slam into anyone else.
on the plus side she got a massive payout and we spent 4 weeks in america v0v
