At some retro games night. They have Mario kart snes on a big screen and the input keeps screwing up, really tempted to try fixing it.

They are also playing really shit music so far, terrible remixes of game songs and anime themes. Hoping the music gets better or I might have to drown it out by focusing on Mario karting.

What difference does it make to them where I live? Where does the "FUCK YOU" part come in?
You imply that because some low-rent housing (which you say you took advantage of yourself) was built in an area, it suddenly isn't good enough any more for you and your kids.

As for what difference, if such a sentiment is widespread, then we come back to "POOR PEOPLE SHOULD JUST LIVE OUTSIDE THE CITY WHERE THEY WON'T MESS UP OUR LAWNS" herp derp argument that people want to make..

You think attitudes don't make any difference? I bet if you got a bunch of people together that thought that way and went to a city council meeting, demanding "those dirty poors be housed somewhere else, so little Timmy won't have to get grubby by association" that your attitude and others would make a difference to them.

Now granted, you're not outright demanding they go away.. you're just passively accepting..
If I had children, I would choose to live somewhere without regular crime or violence. That is all I'm trying to say. I mentioned the area I used to live in because crime and violence were not uncommon there. Moving away at the prospect of being near a community housing unit... I agree that might be a bit pre-mature. However doing whatever you can to provide your kids with the best possible environment is not unreasonable.

I totally agree with you, but indeterminacy's position goes well beyond even that. You're kind of mixing your position with the one that Kal's arguing against. There is a middle ground, but it sure isn't "if they build a low income housing unit here, it's because the schools and developers are conspiring out of greed and it will ruin the neighborhood and I have to move out to avoid the inevitable crime."

    Driving home through chavtown.
See chubby chav untermench with his top off.
Window wound down... Make a pistol with my hand. Point at him.
'You're fit!' blow him a kiss.
Speed off, seeing him all confused in my rearview mirror.

Facebook is shit. Why would you want to use that privacy-destroying website in the first place?

So we agree then. Fair enough.

    What'd you get?

I'm kinda teetering on upgrading myself, not to top of the line, but maybe an i5 3570 with a decent graphics card.

I'm coming from a laptop so I need a new case, PSU, keyboard, monitors, cooler and all that stuff..
I already bought the CPU (i7 3770K) in store because it's very scarse and overpriced on the web at the moment. I grabbed a 1TB HDD while I was there ($20 cheaper than newegg) and I'll be reusing my old Intel X-25 G2, it's still really fast and past 120mb/s I don't care how fast it is.

Nice, quite similar to what I had in mind, was looking at GTX670 too. Not sure it's worth it for me @ over 400€ but I might give Cliffs of Dover a go if its matured a bit, or some new fps maybe, that could take more advantage of a pricier card.

I hate going to sleep. Because when I wake up there are 6 extra pages to the day thread and I have to either read it all if it is interesting or skim read it :\

Kinda defeats the point in providing advertisers with information though.
